Thank you for actually pointing this out. I missed most of the game but figured Gud and JJ were doing ok when I popped on here and saw everyone was just talking about food.

Full disclosure, I didn't catch the whole game, but looking back on the highlights, how is no one complaining about how bad Petterson is? Just about every goal or big scoring chance against he was right in the middle of. Way out of position, handing the puck over and getting outmuscled by Sheary.
It's weird how JJ is the worst ever but Petterson has top 4 potential. Neither are true. |

I noticed that also. The one that immediately caught my eye was when he over committed. Gudbranson had forced his man wide and Petterson came sliding across leaving a Sabre alone in the slot. Fortunately Murray bailed him out.
I think Petterson is safe until Maatta returns though. One thing I do like about him is he shoots the puck. The organization is going to have to make a decision on him this summer.

They should definitely keep him as he is young and cheap. I think he tops out as a bottom pair guy though. He has some ability and upside to his game, just doesn't seem to think the game well.

Oh yeah Petterson played bad last night. The difference is one is 22, cheap and still developing and the other is 30 something, crap contract and is what he is. Now JJ hasn't looked bad lately he can't be put on the right side whatsoever he's ok on the left. And I think there's potential for Petts but he still is young. |

Yeah the Pens need to make a decision for sure. You gotta think one of JJ, Gud, Maatta are moved or they trade Petts RFA rights. Next year we can't have 32mil in cap hit on the defense. The Sharks are at 30 this year but they have two superstars at the position. |

I missed some of the game last night but he seemed super solid from what I saw. kept guys in front of him didn't make it easy on guys to get to the net. Nice passes and hits. Hopefully he stays solid the Pens need it! Petterson played awful last night but hopefully he keeps learning he's young still. Actually Gud gave Petterson an easy out to pass behind the net to him but Petts threw it up the middle for Eichles Goal. Or maybe that was JJ who gave him the out. Either way Petts was bad |

Throw Riikola into the mix also, it seems the organization is high on him. Really not a bad problem to have.
The thing I really like about Petterson, and I said this a few times. He really looks to shoot. Plus he doesn't just put his head down and shoot either, he knows if he is going to one time it or look for an opening before he has the puck.
The flip side is he needs to work on his defensive positioning. That is where the staff will decide if he can play the way they want him to or not. Frankly, that is something that can be taught and that he will learn on his own thru experience. |

Hey Grinder how's your knowledge on wood stoves/burner? I'm looking into getting one for my new house 1,600 sq ft. Have any brand suggestions if so? I've been doing research but rather hear from someone that has some experience with them. |

One game but I had no reason to dislike him. I really only zeroed in during the third and was pretty drunk but I was pleasantly surprised. |

He had a good game. Had a few individual scoring chances too. There really wasn’t many Pens that didn’t have a good game, they controlled the play pretty easily and had chance after chance. BUFs goalie stood in his head. Cullens line and Schultz/JJ are the only players who finished under 50% cf. Schultz/JJ were like 45% but Cullen/Wilson/Blueger were like 25% or worse. They (frank)ing lived in the Pens zone. It was gross. |

I see no reason as a third pairing D man he won’t do fine. Nice physical touch. |

If he keeps playing like he did last night and turns in solid, #5 D like efforts more often than not, I’ll shut up about Gudbranson until the offseason. Not super hopeful, and not like Buff is a bunch of world beaters or anything, but we’ll see. |

I really hate that pairing. Neither of those guys are good in their own zone which is just begging for trouble. I really hope that Maatta gets put with Schultz immediately once he comes back. |
