A TON of CBJ fans on twitter HATE this deal, a lot of them didn't want to give up Abramov.......i'll take that as a positive sign.
the two 1st rd picks (potentially) are clearly the prize here. if panarin and bob are both traded, can't see why CBJ wouldn't re-sign him.
i'll reserve judgement until I hear more about Abramov - sensarmy_11
Duchene won't sign long term with a team coached by Torts |

CBJ might be desperate to sign him (after giving up a lot to get him, and losing Panarin and Bob)......they may overpay.
here's hoping, for us anyways |

It's possible (feasible more likely) that Duchesne just signs in Ottawa in July, basically just renting out a commodity for a few months. |

Giving up an extra 1st is also overpaying, so I don't know.
Duchene would make a killing on the market. |

Not likely ... Melnyk wants to cut costs and the Uber thing means Douchesne is really gone for good. |

I think Ottawa did ok here. I expect that Columbus has to try very hard to sign Duchene to make this deal make sense. If Ottawa gets the second 1st round pick it becomes a very good trade for them.
I see comments about Duchene and Tortorella. From what I've seen from Duchene in Ottawa there won't be any issues. He always seemed to work hard and give a full effort - even on a team that is out of it. I would be surprised if Torts has issues with the work ethic he is going to get from Duchene. |

Uber again? Chabot was in the car too, so I guess he's next to get traded.

I agree with the earlier posting about Lafreniere. I think Ottawa plans to bottom out next year and are hoping they have a shot at Lafreniere as their new franchise player in the 2020 draft. |

don't disagree....I don't know enough about their team or GM to really know which way he would go.
I hope he re-signs, and if not, we got a good return for a rental. |

Agreed. Feasible, but not likely.
Still, that would redeem Dorion quite a bit. |

Chabot is a suggestible rookie ... Duchesne is a veteran with prior history (Colorado), he seems to cause problems wherever he goes. |

I said Duchesne is a veteran ... can't read? |
|
|

no, he's definitely not. reading about him, he very much has a boom or bust feel about him. he (frank)ing TORE UP the OHL, so the elite offense is definitely there.
who knows, we'll see.
I really like the picks though, especially if they re-sign Duchene. I feel like, for sure, bob and panarin are gone next year....don't think CBJ will be very good. - sensarmy_11
Who are we talking about here? Abramov played in the Q, and everybody knows that the Q gives inflated offensive stats

There was an Uber Colorado video, who knew?!
Seriously though, Duchene has been nothing but professional since coming to Ottawa. He was the only guy to take responsibility for the video publicly and privately (video the day after the release of him on the ice with the coach apologizing).
To pretend players don’t talk about coaches in a negative fashion from time to time is absurd. Happens all the time. Just like a regular person complaining about inefficiencies in the workplace.
The cause of the teams failures are far from Duchene and Uber-gate. |

So if Duchene doesn't resign with Columbus, does conditional pick become a 2nd rounder or something?
If it's nothing, that kinda sucks |
