of all the teams on the list of teams pursuing duchene, CBJ was the worst place they could have sent him....they had the weakest prospect pools...Dorion is an incompetant moron.
- Athrin

Meh, that presumes he could have gotten better elsewhere... he has 3 assets to move, can'*t hold on to all of them til the last minute and get screwed.

Not a fan of Dorion, but not sure he would have gotten much better elsewhere.

For what it's worth, I'm not a fan of this as a CBJ fan. I like Duchene and I think he fits what we need, but Abramov is a star in the making.

But the 1st should be better than if he went to Winnipeg or Nashville

Are Columbus even in the playoffs currently? Hell, nothing is certain. They might not even make the playoffs.

They are currently one point behind Carolina for the last wild card spot.

Good deal getting a first from Columbus. They are not very good so that 1st rounder will likely end up being much more valuable than a 1st from any of the true contenders.

Not great not bad. The whole Duchene deal 1.5 years ago is extremely perplexing considering today.
Dorio needs to be fired.

The only glimmer of hope once next season starts The senators may be able to stay out of the spotlight for a season for all the wrong reasons. ..thats all we can ask out of this bumbling ,inept, circus gong show owned and managed by dubious questonable ethics, and qualifications group.

I don't know either of those prospects.

1st rounder is nice I guess but outside of the top 4 this year it's meh.

2020 conditional 1st might be the best piece if Duchene resigns

Well I'll have to thank Columbus for temporarily blocking my GM from doing something stupid... But Columbus? A Team currently outside of the Playoffs, a franchise that I don't think has ever even won a playoff series making a deal like this? Unless the plan is to seriously try and resign Duchene and make him one of the cornerstones of their team, then I don't get why Columbus would do this. Even with him, do they think they're suddenly going to be competitive with Tampa, Toronto, Boston or the Isalnders? Espeically if they deal Panarin. I'm not trying to poke fun or anything, just wondering what Jarmo's mindset is right now.

Considering who are GM is, I'm gonna take this trade as a win. Ive wanted Duchene gone since he showed us his true character in that Uber video.

Sensarmy where you at?
- Feds91Stammer

Still skimming through the 3,000+ pages of the NHL ownership legalese to see if we can kick our own owner out.
So, you traded

A top Prospect, Turris and a Top 3 2019 pick

for

A top Prospect, and a bottom 1st 2019 pick

Looks like a Melnyk business decision to me

- RoloTahmasee

Bingo. And I'm not talking about our previous farm team's location.

Joking aside, we're definitely down on this trade but considering Dorion's "Magical Screwup Powers", we did OK.

The real test will be what happens to Stone - we need a vet who can be a pillar to the n00bs in the team. Not signing him is a big mistake. And if you trade that, the return has to big as big, or more, than what we got with Duchene.

Dzingel, I'm neutral about.

A TON of CBJ fans on twitter HATE this deal, a lot of them didn't want to give up Abramov.......i'll take that as a positive sign.

the two 1st rd picks (potentially) are clearly the prize here. if panarin and bob are both traded, can't see why CBJ wouldn't re-sign him.

i'll reserve judgement until I hear more about Abramov

Douchesne and Tortorella in the same room ... that should be fun.

Good haul for you guys ... I wouldn't want that guy on my team either.

True, but the Columbus first rounder should be higher than Nashville's.

Agreed. Just giving sensarmy a hard time over his projected returns.

Not familiar with either prospect. Abramov seems to be “the prize” but we shall see. Would be nice to potentially land 2 first rounders. That gives you a variety of options going into a rebuild. At least you got one.

The trade is a good haul considering. I’m very disappointed to see Duchene go. Felt he along with Stone could have been good pieces to build around. Jackets have a pretty good 1,2 punch down the middle with Duchene and Dubois.

Glad one trade happened now. Gives Dorion some time to shift the focus on Stone, Dzingle, and any others.

no, he's definitely not. reading about him, he very much has a boom or bust feel about him. he (frank)ing TORE UP the OHL, so the elite offense is definitely there.

who knows, we'll see.

I really like the picks though, especially if they re-sign Duchene. I feel like, for sure, bob and panarin are gone next year....don't think CBJ will be very good.

Ah gotcha.... Considering the last two years I'm gonna take this trade as a positive. The way I look at it is this...... if this trade was done by a chimpanzee would I be impressed?? Cause it basically was....

lol, my argument over return was usually about Stone

actually, the return I suggested from Carolina is pretty comparable to this

I said Necas, 1st, 2nd, 3rd

we got 2 prospects, and potentially 2 1sts.....not far off
