Why would Stone want to go to PHI? - Feds91Stammer

Stone to the Avs for the 2019 1st rounder and Cale Makar. Maybe Pageau gets thrown in. Depends on how eager Melnyck is to shed salary. - fatty_mcmanboobs
Lmao why on earth would Avs make this trade?
Makar is a stud, having an amazing year in college and most likely will win the Hobey Baker this year. And a future #1 Defenseman for their team, easily a #2.
And that 2019 1st round pick (assuming you mean Ottawas 1st round pick they have) could turn into Jack Hughes.
Not a chance Avs make that trade. Stone is a great player don't get me wrong, but not worth that price, especially as a rental. |

Stone to Winnipeg for a first and two of,
Lemieux
Appleton
Petan
Stanley
Not the greatest offer but not the worst, Jets can always add a middle round pick or two.
Send him home!! |

So if Edmonton were to chase this - would a package like this work?
To Edmonton: Stone
To Ottawa:
1st round pick (gives the Sens a mid-range first)
2nd round pick (or Ethan Bear)
Jesse Puljujärvi (still a high-level prospect?)
Milan Lucic (salary dump - but Oilers retain 25% so Sens bite)
Probably not rich enough. Oilers have such crap assets it's really sad, and saying the Sens want help for NOW is silly - they need to blow up and rebuild.
Thoughts? - wbodnaruk
I think this is pretty reasonable.

Very easy for the Flyers, following players are unable:
Giroux, Couturier, Patrick, Konecny, Gostisbehere, Provorov, Sanheim, Hart, Frost, Farabee, Myers
2019 1st (Lottery protected) or 2020 1st
JvR or Laughton or Lindblom

JVR is from NJ which is the general area and was drafted by Philly so already played there and knew the area and all that. BIG difference between JVR and Stone or any other UFA |

And JVR had an unpleasant departure from Philly via trade. So why didn’t he sign with Devils then? |

I find it funny that islander fans are blogging about other teams business all of a sudden when they haven’t been relavent since 1994!
You’ve mistaken the NY team that hasn’t been relevant since 1994.....that would be the Rangers |

What's more unbelieveable stone going to the flyers or ottowa getting a 1st and 2 nhl players for a rental
Have you ever seen a rental before? This kind of return happens all the time. Nobody said the 2 "players" have to be good to help OTT, they would probably do it for a 1st, plus Pronger and Hossa. This situation does not spark joy for us |

Way too weak given the position Winnipeg will be drafting.
Anything a weak team offers will be better than that package if it includes that team's first rounder.

I guess Detroit knows a thing or two or twelve about terrible contracts
On pace for 31 goals in a full season and around 55 pts. Not terrible for 7 mill with today's cap. Not saying it's a great contract but certainly not terrible |

What does DET have to do with PHI offering a past his prime player a 7m deal for 5 years?
Nothing.
Its a bad deal. Thats the facts. |

Not a fan of JvR's game, well more his work ethic, but 7m was still a reasonable offer on the Flyers part to add additional scoring. A guy who was injured for 15 games and still on pace for 25 goals isn't so bad.
If you think about it the Flyers have 2 8M+ players, JvR at 7M, bad contracts in Lehtera, MacDonald and Weise AND still near the bottom of the league in salary cap.
Could be worse, they could be one of those teams that put a trash product on the ice and some how spend more than others. How that is even possible is mind boggling. |

They'll probably want Lindblom and Gudas. Lindblom is a good, cheap young player, and Gudas has been really good this year, and he's right-handed.

Works for me as long as that is contingent on re-signing with the Flyers. Otherwise overpay Stone in the offseason, which the Flyers are one of the few that can right now while keeping those assets. |
