If the 1st rounder was good enough to turn both into the 1st overall for Hughes you would. - thundachunk
I would keep my picks and draft Dmen . The D is the biggest issue to me.
Some guys think Hughes is a superstar . I see him as just a very good player.

Ain’t nobody trading 1st OA for like 15th and 25th. |

Even if it's like 8th or 9th and 25th, that's not happening.
When the Canucks tried to move up to 1st overall for Sam Reinhart during the Virtanen/McCann draft, they offered 6th + 24th + 1 of Edler/Tanev to Florida for 1st overall + spare parts and they were still turned down lol |

I’d rather pay more for better results.
Hasn’t quite looked like the player from last year imo.
Hope he gets it back and continues to develop. - dbot
I think Brock is a good player. I don't think he is 7 mil good so if he comes in around Horvat money for a few years I would be very happy. |

His rookie season he looked on pace for 40g + and worth 7m.
This season he hasn’t looked as dominant and confident and not with 7m, agreed.
I’d rather have last years Brock and pay him for it. |

I said it before he makes as much as Bo on a bridge deal and no more. He isn't a superstar yet. |

hes having a not-so-stellar year, and I agree, I would hope he makes similar to Horvat money, but there is no way he is making that. Benning will 100% give him more. Calder trophy runner-up. Allstar MVP. 94 points in 109 games played (.86 ppg). On pace for 73 points over 82 and on pace for 34 goals this season per 82 games. I dont disagree with you and Vantel, he has looked slower this year, production has tapered off, but I just can't see Benning paying him less or equal to Bo's AAV IMO |

Sure hope that Brock Boeser returns to form for the last half the year.
Hasn’t been bad this year exactly and maybe it’s just in comparison to Petey, but it would be nice to see him start to light it up and finish the season strong. - dbot
In my mind Boeser is having a minor sophomore slump and it's being effectively covered up by Petey's strong play which is not a big issue. I too would like to see him start pitching in more goals though for the rest of the year.
Either way, if he can play better next year our first line will be in good shape. |

He sure wasn't. There are less and less draft eligible players being on junior teams these days from Canada and USA.
Zegras plays left wing usually beside Jack Hughes now that Turcotte is playing 2nd line center.
I see Clayton Keller in Zegras. - manvanfan
That is a high comparison, doesn't really look like the points are there to support you. He is having a good year this year, Keller is one of the all-time best performers in that league. ppg last year, 1.47 this year according to elite prospects.com. That's nice progress. Not in keller territory though (1.77). Nice that he can play center or wing though. Wouldn't hate the pick but I'm hoping we pick higher and nab one of the dmen. Too many dmen is a problem I'd love to have for the first time ever in this franchise. |

I'm going t ogive him a watch in Victoria next weekend, he or Broberg I'd be very happy with. We will have to slide a bit for that to happen though, dare I say tank |

Production has tapered off? Do you mean goals?
His ppg rate is exactly the same as last year right now. |

i should have been specific, but yes, goal production wise, he likely won't hit the same totals as later year, given how many games are left, and he stays healthy. He was on pace for 46 goals over 82 games last season, on pace for 42 goals this season but won't come close to that with only 30 or 31 games left. |

he's got 34 points in 38 games. I think EP is just shining so bright it's hard to see it, but he's played better defensively this year while scoring at the same clip. 109 GP and 94 points... If he signs for less than 6.5 I'd be shocked. My guess is he gets Pasta money at a minimum. |

Yeah, but the same PPG rate on a team that's scoring more goals and upgrading to playing with an elite center |

either way, as much as I would love the cap savings, to have Boeser make Horvat money, i just don't see it. I think he will make 6.5-7 mill aav. Not my wish, but just my guess. |

Makes sense, this is the range I was thinking too. He hasn't bee nthe healthiest player, that's my only issue with him. When he's healthy it's a hell of a lot of fun to watch those two do their thing. Chemistry is only going to grow. Need a third guy. Not sure if JV can step up, but Landeskog type of grit/skill/D would be ideal IMO. As I've mentioned many times: Stone please!! |
