You know you can get yourself a good T-bone steak by sticking your head up a bulls ass but wouldn’t you rather take the butchers word for it?

Unless toronto retains nobody wants that contract for pretty boy. He's overrated and overpaid.

- Pres.cup

I'm not terribly worried.

Take a look at Marleau's contract - they designed it so he won't be on the books next season.

I'd love him on Horvat's wing, but not at that price, they gave him way too much

Keep an eye on your goalie starts in the pool this week . Make sure you get your three games in. I don't think there is a lot of games tomorrow

They gave him $1M/year too much.

I personally woud have sat him for the year, but oddly enough, they didn't ask my opinion.

I think sitting for a full season would have ruined him. The games he missed pretty much has so far.

Marancin is really good - it would be a damn shame to lose that contract off our 50-contract limit.

But if Vancouver wants him...

Activiting someone from IR? Cap has TO listed as 12 F 9 D and now you've sent down Marincin. Leave's a spot open.

It could help to erase a little of the pain left from COrrado's departure.

Cap hit of $6.25M.

3rd year of deal actual salary of $4.25M:

- $3M on July 1st
- $1.25M to play 82 games

So on a 3-year $18.75M contract, he only loses $1.25M by not playing the third year.

That's not by accident.

I read two weeks back that Benning has his eye on two college free agents . If they sign Hughes also that will bring us up to 48 and Benning has not been noted for going dumpster diving in free agency . I am not counting on a claim but who knows.

They added Muzzin without trading a roster player.

Someone has to go.

Are you talking LTIR or buyout? He signed as a plus 35 contract so cap hit is still 6.25.

Doesn't the 6.2 still count against the cap?

I always wonder if guys like Marincin are a conscious choice by GMs.

He's franking terrible, so you have no guilt whatsoever sending him to the pressbox every night. You'd rather do that to a pylon than a guy with an actual future - who you keep in the AHL to develop.

Retirement, trade contract to Arizona with a 2nd rounder for a 7th rounder.

Or LTIR (Robidas Island)

Or...

I have asked a few journalists this, and never got a straight answer: 35+ applies to retirement. But does it apply to mutual termination of contract?

No mention of 35+ conditions in 2013 CBA. Very vague wording in 2005 CBA.

In any event, there are options. And as I stated up top, that contract was specifically structured for a reason.

Was Chicago stuck with the Hossa contract?

Were the Leafs stuck with the Lupul contract?

Go to Google Maps and search for "Robidas Island."

According to prock Marincin and Blacker are future HHOFers.

I'm no CBA expert but I believe like Datsyuk's contract it goes on till it's over.

Which Arizona way overpaid to take on that contract. Move up 4 spots and give away a 2nd to Det.

I had forgotten all about Jessie Blacker.

It would be easy to mock his 1-game NHL career, but that's still a helluva achievement.
