what do you think every team who won did? Chi, LA, Nashville, Pitt? Only team that (frank)ed it up was Edm. Otherwise in the cap era you need to draft high and get lucky. They should be a contender within 3-4 years if they do this right.

If your honest, w/ the exception of Tavares (Signing w/ a Stanley Cup Contender), almost of these players come from the draft and stay w/ the team that drafted them (i.e Crosby, McDavid, etc). Maybe they sign w/ another team well into their careers, which is when their play is already deteriorating.....AND....Seguin has a NMC, just like most of the players of his ilk.
