Yea. I know. Just whoever, and whatever they could offer...but make a splashy splash
- Slimtj100

if they miss out on one of the big July 1st free agents and it's like July 10th and a big RFA is out there not going to arbitration, I could see the Rangers think about offer sheeting

Why don't you talk about important stuff, like if Lundqvist is gonna request a trade

front loaded a bit where there first few years are like 7.5 mil, he'd probably want it lockout proof like some of these recent deals have been

Or end up like the Oilers and Sabres (who are finally turning it around).
- Fenrir

If I have to be the Sabres 2.0 for Eichel and Dadlin, I'll take it.

Is the draft is before free agency? I always forget that 😔because then you won’t lose this years picks, we don’t wanna lose picks this year obviously. But after that I think I’ve had enough of trading for picks and prospects

If it was extremely cap friendly with no nmc/ntc why the hell not, if the trade offers are lousy

good news is, Hayes will either be re-signed or traded within next 25 days, so it will finally be over

Rusty game for him last night, but it was his first one back after a long break.

I often think that guys on the Rangers who are on the trade block go through a mental rut knowing they're about to leave NYC. It's like a catch 22 for the organization. At a time when they want these guys to be lights out and up their stock, the players play poorly out of "depression". But at the end of the day, it's a business...

The only team that is really kind of in a pickle and can get screwed by an offer sheet is the Maple leafs. I don't think it would ever happen though. Pretty sure its a thing of the past, you probably wont see any offer sheets in your lifetime
- mdw7413

But, why would a rebuilding team offer sheet someone? You go after that big name and if you land them you give up your next 3 or 4 first round picks. How does that help your rebuild?
Might as well listen to Dumb-dee and trade away assets for a pending free agent.

Patrick Laine is "pie in the sky" but he'd be worth 4 first rounders for sure

He played like 10 minutes last night. He has been slumping big time, still worth the sheet though

I saw something the other day that Malkin has 3 even strength goals since October

He's still gonna finish near or better than a point per game while having 8 even strength goals up to this point.

Yeah, he's just not scoring. Still putting up points. Just not goals.
