Should have been done as soon as that Lucic deal happened.

Chiarelli firing should have happened long ago. Too many horrible trades and expensive free agent signings.

Two of the worst trades in NHL history probably belong to Chia, Seguin for Loui Eriksson and Hall for Adam Larsson.

trading Ryan Strome for Ryan Spooner and then waiving Ryan Spooner is pretty bad

Honestly...good for the oilers. But, you know that there is done owner out there thinking, "boy, that's a name that I respect. Let's go get him this summer". I just hope it's a team out west so that the pens can take advantage of him in the years to come.

Today should be a national holiday in Edmonton. Boston fans will celebrate it with you. Cheers and congrats Oilers fans!

Imagine McDavid surrounded by Leon, RNH, Eberle, and Hall. Plus, whatever player you could get with the cap space used up by Lucic. (Hopefully a bonified #1 D). This team could have been ridiculously good.

It’s crazy that he lasted this long. He was making crazier and crazier moves, almost like he was trying to get canned. Kind of sad, was hoping for Bowman to fleece him for McDavid!

Chia was terrible, but also a symptom of something incredibly broken in that organization. They need to fire way more than just him.

Seguin trade = nothing as well, the Bruins have zero players, prospects or picks in their entire organization from the Seguin trade, that is THE worst trade in NHL history by far.....it's not even close........

they probably did it specifically so he didn't have that opportunity to (frank) the team even worse than he already had

if you look at Chiarelli's 3 worst deals....

he managed to turn:

hall, seguin, eberle

into

Larsson, spooner

The entire Edmonton organization should be shut down. What a F'n joke, getting so many #1 picks and always being in the dumpster.

always feel bad when a man loses his job, but i feel worse for hockey fans of east coast teams. due to the firing, none will be able to take advantage of chia at the deadline this year
