If I see "play maker" one more time, I'm gonna shank some people.

can we get a player that says "shoots the (frank)ing puck 1st"

Enjoy that 3%-8.5% the Rangers make the playoffs. Also read the blog, if you can in fact read.

In addition to the first-round pick not being in play, Nicholson said top prospects would also not be dealt unless the return warranted it. It'll be interesting to see how K. Gretzky tries to make this a playoff team.

I was seeing who could get added to even it out but not sure what DAL needs, does Fast help them?

Peter Chiarelli was fired during the second intermission of last night's game, according to Bob Nicholson. Wanted to give him a chance to leave the building quietly.

I will thanks! I’m sorry no t everyone can meet your incredible intellectual expectations but I try. I’m confused though. With all of your experience knowledge and overall expertise I’m surprised the rangers haven’t hired you to be the gm! or at least a scout!

Read the blog. These blogs are offers that are made to pending UFAs that Rangers might trade. That isn't my perspective of what I read. That is the literal purpose of this blog and the upcoming blogs.

Dallas is in that special purgatory that I desperately want NY to avoid. Good enough to maybe make the playoffs. Not good enough to ever have any hope of winning a Cup no matter who you get at the deadline.

I love Fast. Dallas needs help and Spezza comes off the books next season. Unfortunately I don't know that even if Dallas added Hayes, Zucc, and Fast that it would make them anything more than the 8th seed bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs.

That is what some Ranger fans want. Team that plays hard and finishes somewhere between 7th-10th. Never have a real shot at winning.

reminds me of the year NY acquired Jokinen and needed him to score in the shootout in order to squeak into the playoffs...I don't ever want to go back there again

Well, yeah, because the Rangers were supposed to be trending up at that time. Right now the Rangers are trending down. Which I'm fine with. But if they trend down, trend all the down.

from Larry Brooks column today:

Signing Marian Gaborik to his five-year, $37.5 million contract on July 1, 2009 represents the greatest free-agency move in Blueshirts’ history. Not only did The Great Gabby record two 40-plus goal seasons in his four years in New York, but his subsequent 2013 deadline trade to Columbus netted Derek Brassard, whose trade to Ottawa after three years of commendable service yielded Mika Zibanejad and the second-rounder the Rangers used to move up to select K’Andre Miller last June.

I agree with the whole paragraph, but that 2nd round pick thing is absolutely incorrect. They traded that pick for Brendan Smith.

Larry getting senile?
