I think he's gone. Sure Ottawa lets him be closer to family but he wants to play for a winner, or at least a team that can make the playoffs with some consistency in the next years. |
|
|
|
He should leave it. He can get 8 million per season from another team and not have to deal with all the other crap in Ottawa. |
|
|
|
If he's smart He leaves it
-8 million per is underpaid
-Ottawa is a dumpster fire from a management/ownership level. Cap Floor teams don't have sustained success

Anything less than 9M he should leave Ottawa.
He can go to a contender anywhere for 8M and not put up with the rebuild Ottawa is facing. |

Curious then if you think minimum 8 x 9M/per for MD, what do you think Rantanan is worth? |
|
|
|
He isn't worth $8 mil per for what he's done but he will get that and plus from a team with a faster road to be a winner. The Sens should trade him by the deadline and get back draft picks and A caliber players in the minors to help rebuild quicker. |

He’ll never sign with the islanders they’ll never offer him what he’s worth they’ve shown that in the past their a decent team but with the arena situation it’s a dumpster fire Barclays is a poophole and the “coli” is still a dump |

Melnyk 1st born. He probably wait to see what Marner gets and see what the going rate is set at |

Ottawa is a joke. No chance he signs. The offer could be 8 years @ $15M per, and he’d still decline. No one in their right mind would willingly sign in that crap hole
He’ll be traded at the deadline for a highly underwhelming package

new arena being built in March is not a factor I see. Makes sense. |

Exactly the same strategy as was employed with Karlsson. Publicly they said they wanted to resign him, privately he was being asked to name the teams (10) where he would accept being traded.
Duchene is headed to the Islanders. Dorion already has the offer he wants to pursue.
Any talks about resigning Duchene or talks with other teams is just window dressing before Duchene takes up residence on Long Island. |

I actually think Duchene makes sense for the NYI |

Everyone, literally EVERYONE, says it was Ottawa’s first offer. EK is the only person saying it’s a “take it or leave it offer”. Friedman, Dreger, Mackenzie, etc all day it’s a starting point of negotiations.......but sure, let’s believe EK. Hahahahaha |

New arena is at least 3 or 4 years away at best! So yes it’s not a factor. He would be going back and forth between two s. H. I. T holes for 4 years. I don’t think so |

Why not EK’s been spot on for years when it comes to deals in the NHL |

He should accept but he wont because he wants to win a cup and Ottawa is not the place at the moment. |
