Well that A tough one .Good on Caggiulo for scrapping ,nice trade by Stan .Q would have had him buried in the dog house by now . Pond hockey out there tonight . Think those last 3 losses at home showed this team for what they are ,close games . Really though the HAWKS were in tough to stay that close ,and a 7 game series IMO would not be that close .
Tonight's game looked like a complete tank game from 7 defense dressed to Ward playing . Final minute down two and over passing . I know they have done it all year , just seemed worse in the tank context .

Forget the last 3 games at home - 30th place is what this team is and it wouldn't matter who was the coach. But keep sugar coating it.

My highlight - Gustafsson being benched for the 3rd after that awful play on the 6th goal.

Justin, I hope they are shopping that guy around. He’s already 27 or 28 years old he’s not going to get any better. They will find someone to replace his so-called offense of abilities. They stick out a little bit now because the rest of the defense is so terrible. Otherwise he would be nothing.

the 5 on 5 play was 6-4 NJ how in the heck was keith a -5? that is kind of impressive. was he out for all 6 5 on 5 goals and 1 of ours or 0 of ours and 5 of NJ.

Ok boys, take it for what it is worth, just read on Spectors ,Bob Murray is open for business , his surplus of defenseman allegedly all in play ...... including Josh Manson. If Bowman wanted to make a statement or at least pick up the phone that would be a good start if he was ever to pull something like that off when it comes to retooling the BLACKHAWKS defense. Wonder what that would cost. Would love to see it personally. Kid plays just like daddy and has a hairpin trigger just like daddy. He definitely was one of my favorites in the 80s.

he would be a decent add to team already defensively competent in need of a 5-6 guy who can add some offense in special situations.

On a team like the hawks he is just exposed as woefully incompetent and a liability.

Seeing that tape-to-tape from Joki to Kane tonight and Joki's assist on the WJC GWG, I'd say we may have already found him.

Watching Delia last couple of games, wow does Ward suck and wow does our defense suck, have a feeling Keith will be going on the IR soon he looks really really really tired

If they want to make a push for playoff, why do they start Ward? Why not start Delia and see what he's good for.

That's the problem with this team they lack skill , energy, size upfront and defensively Keith and Seabrook are becoming more of a liability for this team to improve defensively.

Keith has 2 goals in 2 years and I'm not sure how anyone can justify having him or Seabrook on this team with a straight face. The entire premise of keeping him to teach and play out his contract because he helped him win 3 cups and somehow and The detriment of this teams future ability we write that off and owe him?

I'm sure if Stan frees up the money he could find more productive defenseman to take their place.

You have to go back to 2005-06 - the year after the lost season - to find more scoring - and then to the early 90s.

Goalie save percentagevis down to .908 - down from between .912-.915 in previous seasons. More slender pads? Less fabric in the sweaters?

Just a few random ramblings:

Ecstatic to see Colliton finally make a statement to Gustafsson. Gus gives up on too many plays defensively and is ultra focused on padding his stat sheet. If he was making an effort to improve himself defensively he would not be in this position.

Cam Ward can keep the bench warm as much as possible the rest of the way. Let Delia take the reins and work through adversity when it hits. Ward just isn't good enough to play in the NHL anymore.

Joki needs to be playing 20 minutes a night on Keiths right side. This needs to be set in stone and the coaching staff needs to stop screwing around with it. No more of this 7 d-men business either.

Not sure if anyone noticed during the intermission interview, but Eddie O started with "I know you like playing with guys like Joki and Gustafsson" and Keith responded by talking about how great it is to have a young kid trying to learn like Jokiharju. He did not mention Gustafsson.
