I would agree Raffl probably has the most value for the team to keep. Extremely versatile, hard working and can be used any where. He would be a great value signing for under 3M per.

Hopefully a long way under 3 M a year. Decent, but replaceable. To me he’s a good 4th line guy who can play 3rd line minutes in a pinch. If they resign him him, it would be a 1 year 1.5 M deal.

Oh boy, I want nothing to do with a 3 million dollar Raffl.

G is still the facilitator whether he is at center or on wing with Coots. Only difference is Coots takes the center responsibilities and takes pressure and wear and tear off G. Whenever and wherever offense goes through G.

It’s a case of fans desperately wanting to be right and in this case, a lot of fans on this board agree with each other and ride what they think are safe bets.

Simmonds was a beloved player on this board until mid way of last season when Patrick replaced Simmonds for two weeks on the Power Play. Now with the signing of JvR, anyone can do what Simmonds does. Forget what Simmonds career resume shows, which I’d be the best in the business in the paint. Anyone can tip pucks into the net or score off of rebounds. Forget that he’s keeping up with top six talent with lesser players to play with on the third line.

Claude Giroux shouldn’t be taken away from Sean Couturier and placed back at center, he collected 100 points last season and the two players are a match made in heaven. Forget that separating the two would create tougher match ups, Giroux is one of the best faceoff men in the league and fully recovered from an injured hip. Throw out the window that’s it’s a team sport and we should be in search for balance throughout the line up.

This is a good team and one player shouldn’t make or break it. We can win without Sean Couturier for a couple games. We don’t have to trade Simmonds to get better. Giroux doesn’t have to play one position to be effective.

Yes, he clearly has value that the discriminating fan can see, so I am sure GMs see it as well.

We are not playing for this year. Move him now while it is beneficial to both trade partners.

He currently makes 2.3M....which is under 3M. That's all that was stated, I don't deal with his contract negotiations.

Hope there is some graduation from the system. The may need to fill 3 forward roles.

Jvr Giroux Konecny
Couturier Voracek
Linblom Patrick
Laughton Weise

Internal options could be:
Nak
Vorobeyov
Rubstov
Kate
Bunnaman
Leier
Frost
Ratcliffe
Farabee

Someone explain to me this wear and tear argument. There are a lot older players who have remained at center their entire careers.

Not to mention that the UFA market for all positions is looking pretty good.
