Bob was in no position to be demanding a trade. He was a 24 year old goalie with just 2 years in the NHL. - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Be that as it may. He stated he would return to Russia before being a backup. So there was his leverage.

The only thing that proves is where the Flyers take their shots from. It does not in any way prove why they do. - MJL
Dark blue= LW. Where Giroux likes to pass across ice to the RW or point for a shot, which then gets stopped for a rebound which gets shot from within 5ft of the net. TaDa! |

I just dont agree with that.
On the Devil's hit you could make the case that Wilson was trying to get out of the way a bit..
On this hit Reaves clearly targeted Wilson.
Reaves should get something for this hit but its the NHL DOPS so he will probably get a stern look. - opeth_pa
I don't know if you play hockey but i find it very hard to believe Wilson couldn't have easily avoided that hit on the Devil. he glided right into him not remotely trying to avoid the hit. He is a freaking NHL player. He absolutely could have avoided that hit in my mind. |

its a know fact he asked to be traded. Back then there was still the threat of heading back to the KHL |

I looked at all of them. The Flyers are definitely much more inclined to generate "unblocked" shots from the point than almost ALL of the other teams. - MBFlyerfan

Well no, that was implied.
Same chart for all the teams.
What it did tell me is that overall, teams with strong offensive defensemen tended to have a little more red out by the points than teams who lacked those players. San Jose being one example.

I disagree Bob played well here. Only reason he was traded was because they wanted Bryz to be the clear cut #1 - xShoot4WarAmpsx
Bob played excellent here in one year, doesn't mean he wouldn't have played well seasons after, but he faltered in the playoffs. As you know already and is well documented Bob was traded because he demanded a trade or the Flyers would lose him. Bryz had excellent numbers in Phoenix and was a Vezina finalist there, why was he different in Philly? The team in front of a goaltender makes a big difference. |

No position? Obviously he was in good position because the Flyers did trade him for fear of him going back overseas to play.
Edit: Really late to the party with this. |

Absolutely not true. Bob didn’t want to be #2 behind the Bryz 10 year contract. He said he would not sign with the Flyers and would play in the KHL if not traded. Bob forced the trade not the other way around. |

Yup, played for many years until hit from behind and a ruptured ACL but now I have a zombie knee so that is cool!
What I was trying to get at was the Reaves hit seemed more intention than the Wilson Devils hit. |

Bryz had good numbers in front of a better team because he isnt an elite goalie. There are goalies who perform based on their team and others (Elite goalies) that can bail their teams out. Bryzgalov is just another Elliot. Team in front of him was garbage but he isnt a goalie to carry you to the promise land like Quick or MAF. Bob had limited experience in the playoffs in Philly. He played a total of 7 games within 2 years.
In 2011-12 he played 6 Playoff games. 3 of them in relief of the starting goalie. That was his rookie season
In 2012-13 He played 1 playoff game. |

Ah that 7 1 beat down opening night in Montreal is special to me. My first flyers game live, and first time I got to see hextall and lindros live. The beat down was epic and loved seeing Roy just raked. I proudly wore my hextall jersey at the forum and received a lot of abuse I'll tell ya haha. That was such a great team which should have gone further than it did. |

About as good as the Flyers playoff experience during that same period.
I don't care.
He's not done, imho. Just going through a rough patch. I'd take him back in Philly no problem. |
