To be fair I could coach the Predators and they would still make the playoffs. That lineup is beyond stacked - bulet13
Whew really trying to be good here, biting my tongue really hard.
Subban, Turris and Arvidsson have been out of the lineup. Now imagine if Provorov, Couturier and Konency were all out right now.
Now imagine Watson, Hartman, Salomäki, Grimaldi, Sissons and the best for last Rinaldo were on the Flyers.
Do they have good forwards, some really good defensemen and goaltending, yes they do. I would never ever call Nashville stacked...a well built team that plays awesome as a team...no question. Now how can the Flyers do that? |

Dude if you don't think the Nashville lineup is stacked than I don't know what to tell you. I still think Lavy is a great coach. He's got a cup. But he didn't get one here and he hadn't got one in Nashville, and their lineup is better than anything he had in Philly too |

Then I will agree to disagree then. Nashvile is a great team, they play a great team game and have the right players to play that game.
Was Vegas stacked last year? |

No they were not. Not sure what that has to do with Nashville |

Basically a team that is put together correctly and plays as a team is much better than a team with skilled individuals.
Obviously Nashville has waaaay better goaltending and defense than the Flyers, I won't argue that, but would you really swap these forwards with Nashville? Sure they are a winning group in Nashville, but would they really win here?
Forsberg - Giroux
Johansen - Couturier
Turris - Patrick
Fiala - Konecny
Hartman - Voracek
Smith - JvR
Bonino - Laughton
Jarkrok - Simmonds
Sissons - Weal
Watson - Raffl
Salomaki - Lindblom
Gaudreau - Lehtera
Rinaldo - Weise |

Yes you can. For example, if someone wants to have the opinion that Claude Giroux is not a good hockey player. I could effectively refute that.

You could state a different opinion, but his opinion, will still be his opinion. Perhaps he’s from Edmonton and is old enough to remember Gretzky in his prime. If he’s basing his ratings of players compared to Gretzky in his prime, than yeah, Giroux is not a good hockey player. Or maybe, in his way of looking at things, you can’t really be a good player unless you win a Stanley Cup. Since Giroux has not, well, you see where I’m going with this
They are odd opinions, but, in his narrow way of looking at things, they’re valid. Now if he said, Claude Giroux has never scored 100 points in an NHL season, that you could refute as it is factually incorrect.
You can counter or challenge an opinion, but unless it is something that can be proven as untrue, you cannot refute it.

That would be a Bruce Lee punch to the testimonials if the Penguins won Hughes. I would stop watching hockey forever. |

Bill,
What do you think will happen with Nylander? If he's traded, what do you think Toronto could get for him from the Flyers? - jmatchett383 BJ from Gritty+Weise Lehtera Foolin Weal and A Mac’s lame contract. |

Twenty combined wins in 48 games between these teams. Pathetic all around.
Did I see Voracek listed on the third line? That could create a lot of balance if Patrick and Simmonds can carry the mail at even strength. Don’t like the pens splitting Pearson from Malkin. |

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here with this Nylander situation... But isn't holding out this year really making any future contracts about 7mil less because of the money he would lose this year?
So he's willing to throw away what could be 7 million for what might be a 300k difference?

Yeah but it's one less year you have to play for the Leafs. Can you really put a price on that? |

The good news is the 2nd line is going to be fire tonight or like previous nights irrelevant.
The 3rd line will be fun to watch...just curious if Voracek will notice Laughton and Raffl playing defense. "Oh is that what I am suppose to do?" |

I don't want to get into the whole...he did't play this year so its "considered lost money", but I will say this. If Nylander doesn't sign in an hour he will be collecting a paycheck from another team overseas. I believe in the National League. |

Regardless of money, the chance to miss out on playing for a cup contending team is lunacy to me.
If I'm the Leafs I take the best deal I am offered and trade him. Look at how good Toronto is WITHOUT him. |
