I also look around the beginning of Jan, seems more realistic than 10-20 games into the season. - Makita
Playoffs are clearly not what this team needs...we need one more top 5 pick. But I’d be ok with it, simply because it would be hilarious |

Because he is doing a better job than Hextall, and he listens to the owner unlike Hextall. - Makita
Hextall is a meathead like every other exFlyer in management. Dinosaurs. |
|
|
|
Rumour has it, Hextall was let go because of his poor scouting. Apparently they are not pleased about losing out on Petterson. Nor are they happy with the play of the defense that were drafted by Hextall. |

Remember Green being in the conversation for coach of the year?
I liked that one. - LordHumungous
I still think he should... team plays hard every night. Just got no talent. He won't win of course but I think he's doing a good job. |

If Green got this roster close to a WC spot this year absolutely his name should get mentioned. But Hot start for the team in the first month of the season does not warrant coach of the year accolades regardless how hard the team is working. I actually don't mind Green...but he's got alot to learn and a long way to go. |

Either him or the assistant running the D need to reevaluate their system. The heat map from where the Canucks give up shots in their own end is so hot in the slot that it'll melt your screen.
The Athletic had a good article that showed that the Canucks PK without Sutter has basically been "hey there sir, would you like a free zone entry? how about a bunch of cross ice one timers and shots from the slot? we can give you a goal if you like" |

That's the beta female dog players we have. Scared to get involved in the dirty areas. They know where they should be and what they should do... they just don't, because they are awful hockey players. |

It's a combo of many things but ultimately it boils down to Sutter and beagle being injured. Our PK without Sutter or Beagle is like you said...awful. |

Beagle has nothing to do with it. his early tracking data this year combined with his tracking data last year, on a really good team, shows he's sub-average at defence outside of his faceoff percentage.
And the defence has been porous all year. Not just since Sutter's injury. |

lol he's played 5 games as a Canuck. Yes WSH PK slipped to 15 last year but they were 2-7-15th with Beagle. Quite a bit better than our 21- 28th. Missing him is a factor for sure. So you are saying he wasn't a factor in the PO's either on WAS's run to the championship? lol |

The Canucks PK was top 10 without Beagle. I believe it peaked at 6th. Was 11th when Sutter got hurt. Now its 23rd.
he was a factor, sure. But people like to put too much importance on the character guys on teams that win and not like the guys playing 20 minutes a night and scoring. Like David Bolland or Fernando Pisani or Gregory Campbell and so on. |
