Nobody is trading for Schneider right now unless it's to reach the cap floor. In general the trade return for a goalie is usually poor, yet alone a highly paid, struggling goalie.
The Devils will likely have to buy him out if he doesn't start playing like pre-2016 Cory Schneider. Once extensions for Hall (god willing), Nico, and others like Bratt, Butcher, and Zacha (???) kick in, they won't be able to afford to pay a struggling goalie $6M against the cap.
I don't know how you can reasonably trade Kinkaid (or worse, let him walk) with how Schneider has played the majority of the last two years. I'm still not sold on the idea that Kinkaid will continue to play like a legit starter moving forward, but he's been better than Cory the last two years and is younger and won't need to be paid as much.

Plus it is so obvious how the team stands up with KK in net and how deflated they get with the soft goals CS allows!!
