Giroux and Voracel always seem to kill the Devils. Tonight will be no exception. |

My girlfriend took one in the eye too, but she hates the Flyers. Odd.
Kinda weird to have Nico out hurt and Nolan healthy and productive.... but I guess it was bound to happen. |

I can't even begin to say how happy I am to finally see zero changes to the lineup. Even though I'd prefer a couple small changes we just can't keep switching everyone around. Playing with the same players every night is so important. Players can act & react instead of being on their heels thinking. Win or lose I want the same lineup out there Friday night & on Sunday. Obviously if Nico comes back it will change slightly but for the better. |

Todd Cordell: G17 New Jersey Devils @ Philadelphia Flyers: Five things to watch - Todd.Cordell
Great read Todd, and you are right we can't pace these guys in a run-and-gun game. They simply have 2 quality scoring lines and we have just the one (and without nico!!!). They have JVR on their 3rd line, which says enough about their balanced scoring. What we do have is Seney and Bratt who can use their feet to draw penalties against one of the slowest D-cores in the league. Prov is the only D on that squad that is solid in his own end. We need our speedy wingers to draw some pims to have a real chance tonight. I would love to see our young D- core occupy all the top 4 (and carry 48 minutes), as the older fellas have made poor choices and are simply too slow:

Just don't see this team surviving long term with an injured Vatanen. |

The Zacha line might be the greatest line to never score |

Did she just ask Keith how he has settled in on being the #1 goalie? Isnt Cory back? What is going on here? Is Cory going to ask to be traded soon? |

Cory can ask but the market is pretty poopty for 32 year old goalies making $6M and sporting a 4.82 GAA and .849 SV%.... and coming off major surgery. |

I get your point, but we are talking about GMs that give players like Wilson and Clarkson 5+ a year. I think if Cory wants to go lots of teams will lineup. |

Sad to say, he'd probably slip through waivers right now... |

I am sure we could trade him for an older, higher paid King Henry, or maybe swing something for the also higher paid, and struggling Rask.....Bobrovski is likely on the move as well, but I doubt they want schneids to replace him given his current numbers. I think if Schneids is going to be moved, and the Devs recieve something nice in exchange, we would have to absorb about 1.5M AAV. At 4.5M, lots of teams would be willing to give him a second chance. |

Nobody is trading for Schneider right now unless it's to reach the cap floor. In general the trade return for a goalie is usually poor, yet alone a highly paid, struggling goalie.
The Devils will likely have to buy him out if he doesn't start playing like pre-2016 Cory Schneider. Once extensions for Hall (god willing), Nico, and others like Bratt, Butcher, and Zacha (???) kick in, they won't be able to afford to pay a struggling goalie $6M against the cap.
I don't know how you can reasonably trade Kinkaid (or worse, let him walk) with how Schneider has played the majority of the last two years. I'm still not sold on the idea that Kinkaid will continue to play like a legit starter moving forward, but he's been better than Cory the last two years and is younger and won't need to be paid as much. |
