Carol Schram: Elias Pettersson & Jonathan Dahlen show chemistry in Young Stars blowout The much-hyped Vancouver Canucks prospect pool delivered in a big way, with Elias Pettersson and Jonathan Dahlen leading the way in an 8-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets prospects in the first game of the 2018 Young Stars Classic on Friday.

Thanks Carol!

I think Palmu-Gaudette-Gad would make an excellent third line down the road and
Dahlen-EP-??? would be our second.

Nevertheless, it was good to finally watch some hockey and see these kids despite the massacre. I really like Palmu. The fans will be screaming muuuuuuuuuuuu and Wooooo in a few years

I noticed Dahlen right away. Very slick skater and hands. Petersson was invisible to me in the first...but as the game went on these two just exploded with each other. Very excited to see!
Mac and Gaudette looked very strong in the first too
OJ seems to be a great defender...quiet and not flashy, but strong passing crease play. Exciting times!

Juolevi is a cerebral player, thinks the game very well, he's not gonna wow you at any point imo but he's gonna be a good player.

"But I was surprised by Dahlen. His speed and his hands looked tremendous and his chemistry with Pettersson might have been the best part of all.

Despite the Canucks' logjam at forward, I'm suddenly very interested in the team keeping Pettersson and Dahlen together this season—and I'm not talking about Utica."

I was having this debate in the last blog . You could see the skillset of Dahlen despite the opposition . At times he looked like the best player on the ice . I don't understand the mindset of fans to award EP a top six spot and send Dahlen who looked equally as good to the minors to save Granlund or Gagner from going on waivers.

If they look as good as each other, and have chemistry, does it make sense to send him down as we talk about EP being a Calder contender?

If he continues that play throughout camp then give him the job

I want to see Dahlen against NHL caliber players before I say he deserves a spot.

Ruben tried to make a claim for it but I feel like the spot needs to be earned and not gifted

Everybody needs to show us what they got.

More like focussed on trading out a player or 3. Run a 14/7/2 roster once the dust settles.

For anyone who's in town, the Barking Parrot patio at the Lakeside hotel should be hopping at 5:30, two great singers from the Roxy.
