I seen someone asked yesterday about picking up Duchene or Seguin next year. Don shot it down and I think I agree . Draft and develop .

I think Canucks have 4 legit top 6 forwards already in the next two years. I am pretty sure we will draft a top 10 forward next year also.

Here is to hoping EP can be a number 1 C

We could use either or both of EK & Seguin.
Never can have enough top C’s & D if can fit in the cap. Also more assets gives more options.

Much of it hinges on how the team progresses this season. If the team moves up 3-4 spots and shows promise all good. But Benning would be stupid to not at least kick the tires on Sequin. Duchesne meh...neither here nor there.

Send me your prayers guys, I just got back from the hospital and they think I might have Stage 1 colorectal cancer. Waiting for results of my blood and stool samples to confirm.

I hope they are wrong.
Stay positive.

I would go in on Karlsson but I would not go in on Seguin . Just my opinion.

Yeah I was mostly thinking about Duchene when I said keep going forward. I am not a huge fan of Seguin for some reason.

I don't eventually mind landing the big fish but he is not the one I would want

I would never say no to a top player if the cost was simply money, any one of Duchene, Karlsson or Seguin makes the Canucks a better team. That said, as a UFA, why would they choose the Canucks next summer when they're bound to have another bottom five finish.

If they turn things around in two years and become successful, then you may see UFA's wanting to come here.

It is not hard to make the Canucks a better team . Wahlstrom or Tkachuk would have done that this year

Again this is just my opinion but when the team does go all in of a trade or free agent Seguin would not be my first choice

I know a few people who have successfully battled through that. In each case, the experience changed their lives in a profoundly positive way.

If that ends up being the diagnosis, be thankful you caught it early and then kick its ass.

Why?
Name a guaranteed cup winner with the money? Did JT get money & a guarantee?

Try on lifestyle & seeing a team on the rise could entice UFA’s to any team. If for tax reasons its not about winning is 1st.

Yeah I've heard conflicting stories around Sequin in the locker room. He does seem like a bit of a tool but is a consistent 70+ point guy. I think Duchesne is on his way downhill so not sure he would be a good acquisition. Banning and Seguin do have history but still if we move up 3-4 spots in the standings there should be no need to go after either of those guys.

Yeah he's not my favourite player that's for sure but he makes any of the 31 teams better.

Benning traded Seguin so I am not sure he would sign him

Duchene had a good year, 49 points in 68 games on one of the worst teams in the league is decent. Horvat had similar numbers. I don't know why you think he's going "downhill", he was 26 years old last year?

If you're targeting a UFA, I'd be going after Karlsson, and to a lesser extent, Duchene.

Lol. I could see a team like Florida or Carolina being moved 1st, due to low attendance, plus they want 16 team conferences.
