What if the players JB picks don't work out?
- manvanfan

What if an asteroid hits earth and kills us all? It's all just for the purposes of conversation. What if Pettersson turns into RNH? Then what? What if Demko turns out to be the second Markstrom? Then what? What if Hughes turns into Greg Hawgood? Then what?

I got ripped the other day because I put Palmu ahead of him. Who has speed and skill.

Gadjovich has to improve his speed. He's probably that 3rd wheel that was discussed early in the blog. A big body to play in the corners and pick up garbage infront of the net. If he turned into a 35 point middle 6 player, I would be happy.

- manvanfan

I think Zac Mac is ahead of Gadjovich also . I think Lind will be a third liner in two years . Jasek may have a very good year and come out of nowhere .

I said the other day most of the top 6 and top four will come from our first round picks . After that it is a crap shoot.

Agreed but I see the improvement as somewhat accidental. Like Lefty says, they tried to stay competitive and be a playoff bubble team but fell flat on their face each time and got a high draft pick as a consolation prize. The trades and the Eriksson signing make me shake my head. They say one thing and do another. At least now we know the message will be consistent coming straight from Aquilini.

As they should for all of us. They have set us back for sure.

If by "asset" you mean "It is what it is McCann.....yup
- Brooks_Light

He is an asset, was just mismanaged. He's only 22 years old and he put up 28 points and was +11 on a non-playoff team. That is a kid that is showing more growth every year and he's going to continue that trend.

Ive always been high on mccann and always will be. He will be a top 6 forward for florida for a long time i think.

he is good. and he is a douche.

would have been a great replacement for Kesler in the long run.

I wouldn't label him a douche, he mispoke when he was a teenager.

yeah, I don't know who he is. he just comes across as pissy and arrogant from the little I have seen/heard of him.

douche's have their use, and I'd rather a world with than without.

as said earlier, he would be playing center if he was still here.

So what you're saying is the Flyers have done a better job?
- 1970vintage

Yes. Teams with more picks are better teams. Most darts win.

Do you think Benning would have been able to get by Linden first?

Benning came in here with no connection to the twins or Edler . He had 7? NTC / NMC and a sh1t roster after that . Good luck

- VANTEL

Geez is that me posting? 😂😂
The people who ignore that make JB an Einstein amongst idiots. Who’s dim now?

We're in year 5 of Benning's tenure. How many of his draft picks have had a positive impact on the club so far? If people don't really begin to step forward this season and next then i would consider his tenure an absolute failure.
- golfingsince

I agree the prospects need to prove JB right & show he stays or goes. When? I say this season should be an indicator & by Xmas or the TDL will be when.

Is the second best D prospect behind Bobby Orr.

Hughes

Pettersson is going to be good, but Hughes will be better

But we'd still have Bonino, Forsling (Clendenning) and our 2nd round pick and finishing at the bottom of the league. Trading for Sutter was, and always will be, a terrible trade unless they can get a boatload for him at the TDL.
- LeftCoaster

Jesus who the fcuk cares already, this is getting worse than bringing up the game 7 loss. 19 pages of complaining about Benning

I’m going to have to revert to my Positive Peter shtick.....Benning is a genius, no further comment needed

With more favourable starts and a player that makes others better probably but no he's not allowed to play more.

Baertschi Bo Boeser
Virtanen Pettersson Eriksson
Leipsic Sutter Gagner
Schaller Beagle Roussel

Yes I managed to get Eriksson and Gagner in the line up without forgetting they have signed contracts.

- manvanfan

I think this is as likely as anything.

Gaudette should get one year (full and uninterrupted) in Utica. I would also have Goldobin down there (I don’t think he ever becomes a regular NHL player). Dahlen should start there, but if EP is having any sort of success and Dahlen is doing well in the AHL, then I bring Dahlen up pretty quickly.

Pouliot is going to have a big year.

I am wondering if Benning pulls the trigger on Loui?

- VANTEL

You think Benning is going to kill LE? I mean...it may be the only way to get rid of him, but it seems awful risky.

McCann (frank)ing blows and he's an idiot, i'm glad that little sh1thead's gone. The two draft picks that went the other way suck too, and will most likely never see an NHL game. Candella blows and so does Gustavsson. Lockwoods shoulder has pretty much played him outta making the NHL already too. Funny all the complaining about the picks and prospects JB has traded away, yet can you name one you wish was actually in our system?? Only one I can think of is Rasmus Andersson - who's all potential but hasnt actually done Sh!t yet. BTW Forsling sucks goat d&cks too. Bunch of moot points over a bunch of sh&t players.

- Brooks_Light

So what you're really saying is that it isn't just the GM and the pro scouts who need to be fired, but the amateur scouts as well
