I agree 100%, but I still loved that he manned up!
- .HOHO.

I don't know whether the constant brainfarts are worth it, or whether to believe the good advanced stats, or whether he will ever "get it" and settle into a solid NHL defender.

I still feel like trading him may look awful. He has a couple years where he could be very good.

But what is he going to cost?

He seems to have all the tools to succeed, except for maybe being too soft. I just worry more about him being mentally soft than physically.

Did you see the Dreger/BabRichard interview.

BabRichard was really pumping Zaitsev's tires, Gardiner also to a lesser extent. I think he was right that Gardiner can't take the entire game 7 collapse on himself.

The Leafs were in the lead in the third peroid despite the fact that Gardiner was on the ice for every single Boston goal. He choked more than this guy

...by many people on here

- PatC80

Great to hear.
Good job Gm's

Oh, you have to point it out in that instance considering the context!

he's a safe consistent puck mover. won't bring offense.

bascially tanev on the left side, available for only cap space.

- Tumbleweed

He also suffers from Lupulitis - and his favorite vacation spot is Robidas Island. This (frank) has played one full season out of 5 in the NHL so far. So if you like sports betting, bet he will have a major injury this season.

i watched parts of it. didnt see those comments though.
its easy to see he likes Zaitsev though.

I am on the fence about Z. without the PP time he doesnt score a lot 5v5. I am hoping he had a down season and its not the norm, you can make an argument for both using some numbers.

Gardiner, Brown for Faulk, Wallmark or Nicklas Roy(both C prospects)

Then sign a LHD to a one year deal, give them more money.

Enstrom, Hamius, etc

All good shot suppressors and can play the PK.

It's a move I could see Dubas taking.

I think he was injured

I really liked him his first year, seems like he's been battling a concussion since the Caps series

We will see which year he really is. His rookie season or the one we witnessed. It probably looks worse for Zaitsev though considering he was really the only rookie to go into a sophmore slump.

As impressive as your evaluation of a defender?

"He sucks"

He's doing no different than what you are doing

- Santo_44

What? i was giving Andersen credit by saying he's average.

Yeah, same on Zaitsev.

I *want* him to be really good, but he seems like he really isn't a top-4 if your top 4 is good... and that contract doesn't look all that great.

I agree, Andersen was lousy in that important game, what do you think the crowd's reaction will be to Gardiner - the first time he steps on the Ice at the ACC? It does make a difference between a should trade and must trade situation wouldn't you agree?

Pittsburgh should trade Crosby

He gave it away in game 7 to lose

I would hope the crowd would cheer the team.

I am sure he feels badly about it. No sense piling on him. If he is still a Leaf then we should cheer for him. I don't feel sorry for young guys making millions, but I still think you should cheer your team if you are at the game.

12th overall from NYI and they sign him to a contract for life for slightly more than Dipietro.

What dmen can we reasonable trade for?

Nurse, Faulk, Tanev, Ellis, Barrie?

Hanifin, OEL, Hamilton, Trouba too much of a stretch?

Jones absolutely untouchable?

I feel like Nurse or Faulk is the only realistic chance, and Nurse might not even be possible within reason.

Faulk is a player that is super realistic, may be the only player available for trade that could be had for a fair price

Nurse, Tanev, Hamilton outside chances.

Barrie's name has been out there for a while
