The team wasn't sharp. A lot of misplaced passes leading to icings. I thought Gudas played like ass.
That is all. - SuperSchennBros
You went to see it hey?
Boys simply have to find a way here at the end of the year. A lot of questionable goals it seems the last while - coverage issues aside, that's killer. |

This team makes it particularly difficult to enjoy them. |

Just gotta stay ahead of the Devils and Panthers, I wouldn’t mind the Caps in the 1st round.
Man, Gudas has to be better, no excuse for some of the boneheaded plays he’s been making.
Also kudos to Alex Lyon. The net should be his right now without question. |

Washington is the only team I’d give them a chance against I think. Gotta make it first. They should get it done. |

Team defense is an ongoing problem for the Flyers. Too many passes to skates instead of sticks.
Again, Mrazek plays well to start the game, but it's hard to get behind him when he lets in at least one soft goal a game, at the most momentum-crushing times. Alex Lyon needs to be #1 until Elliot comes back. They clearly play much better in front of him, and he makes the timely saves this team needs.
I like the fact that this team has the guts to come back no matter how much they're down by, but the mental lapses in most games in the month of March have to stop. They will be playing from behind for their only four games of the playoffs if they don't wake up and realize that it takes a 60-minute effort to get the job done in the NHL.

The second period last night was an embarrassment. They were non-chalant and lackadaisical. Mrazek should've had the save but the lazy back check was inexcusable. This is another instance where the Flyers took a team lightly and played down to them. Allowing the Red Wings to take it to them early in the game and for the entire 2nd period. It's not acceptable and I put that on the leadership.
As far as the shootout selections. I understand going with the percentages but in that situation I want to put my best player and captain out there. If he fails he fails. I also think you need to look at the game and see who had the jump in the 3rd period when they made the comeback, who brought the team back. Play the hot player. Flyers had every opportunity to win the game outright late in the 3rd and in OT. They failed to get the two points that they should've gotten. This kind of effort pisses me off. |

Got the playoffs? Yes, I think they'll make it in but this was not the overall effort of a team that wants to surge to the playoffs.

Gudas as soon as he got that early interference penalty didn't look the same. I don't really know what to do with him at this point. I would even consider a game in the cote suit with manning coming back in at this point. It's like as soon as he's comfortable he is too comfortable and makes a dumb play.
Lyon should get the Thursday start nothing promised past there. He's been the better goalie at 3 in the past 4. |

Right now hard to see as anything more than the 8 seed and sacrificial lamb to tampa. Florida Columbus show no signs of slowing. Jersey seems to be odd team out as they have played mediocre hockey as well. |

Florida has a very condensed schedule from here on in and 2 games left with Boston who may be playing for the top seed. I wouldn’t pencil them in yet. However I do think the Devils end up missing, but I think the Flyers still have a decent shot at being the top WC and getting the Caps in round one |

After they make the playoffs, it's all gravy for me. I won't mind if they lose a playoff series to a better team as long as they're competitive and play hard. |

Didn't they beat Boston game 1 and I felt like the scoreboard was closer than the game |

Its the same old same old. Poor coverage in their own end. A goalie that plays really good but then lets in an iffy one...and a team that doesn't seem to know how to put teams away..... stop me if you've heard this before.
How they didn't score in the last 2 minutes of that game? Detroit just gave up. Then in OT with the PP....on a 4-3 there is no reason to kill 30 seconds passing it and looking for the perfect shot....they are all open...shoot the puck. A 4-3 is different because there's not enough guys to defend and the PP team has two options...low or high. Pick one and shoot....the game was lost then.
the positives were....1) they did not give up despite a horrible 2 periods...2) Lyon showed me that he deserves the net.
as far as G sitting out the shoot out? that's just a mistake by the coaching staff. So move on and make sure they are ready to go Thursday night. |

I just want to see us push someone. I can live with a first round exit in 6 7 games. Being swept is almost as bad as a late season collapse |

I don't care what Giroux's record is on the shootout, he is your best player who has the best hands and has had a great season. The coach must be putting him out there every opportunity. There really is no excuse for it.

I only watched the first but keying in on Sanheim I am really liking what I see. His positioning has been superb and he’s battling well in the corners, making the little plays to move the puck and last night he tried a give and go when he had the puck at the point. It’s wonderful to watch |

They had better sort themselves out. Like now. There is nothing worse than backing into the playoffs with a completely lost team, which is what this team looks like for long periods of most games.
I'd rather miss the playoffs than see this kind of effort swiftly dealt with in the 1st round. |

Absolutely they trusted him late as well he was out sub 1 minute it was amac sanheim than provy gost. They also rotated usually they pair him with the Patrick line more often last night they had him out with g a lot and than provy gost with patrick. Although I believe that had a lot to do with the wings getting the last change it still shows they trust him. I expect gudas and manning to be fighting for the 6 spot at this point. Especially since we have officially recalled him at this point |
