You'll have to elaborate on this so I can get a better handle on WTF you're talkin about.

Your repetitive cynicism & complaining cannot be satisfied. I do believe you are a true fan with passion but it gets tiresome to say the least your penchant for the above.

If you prefer i could reply to each & every one of your posts & the future posts to come that constantly berate the same thing over n over. How about just move on?

What a Geffen moron. He needs new material, using the same quote as he did when he first got hired is pretty lame.

Perhaps that he likes the kids they've picked and they'll continue to build thru the draft and develop.

What core is he referring to? Horvat and Boeser? That's two players.

Baertschi ranks 14th among #Canucks  forwards for shots(SF/60), 11th for scoring chances(SCF/60), and 9th for high danger attempts(HDCF/60) even when including the time he’s spent with Boeser and Horvat

I haven't minded Benning, but for him to say we can turn this around in a hurry, when he said the same thing 4 years ago is an insult to mine and all fans intelligence and trust in the message he is saying.

Baertschi bottom 5 in the league(300 F) for shot attempts, scoring chances, and goals per hour when playing away from Boeser and Horvat.

Expected goals for rate of 1.78 is lower than Brendan Gaunce's and includes the time he's spent with 53 & 6 #Canucks

When playing with Sutter. Not much better. In fact, Baertschi's goals for and scoring chances for rate drops to dead last in the entire league

Willie D said this team would be better if Sven was on the 4th line, he was not wrong.

Didn't Calgary select Rasmus Andersson with that pick?

Bo and Boeser give a good starting point. If we got Dahlin I would say we could be a bubble team next year.

I sure hope to meet the president of this so called fan club . Who is determining who is a good fan and a bad fan.

When you see your season ticket waiting list evaporate and thousands stop going and caring then some fault must be blamed on the team

That's certainly the buzz on the street. I spent a couple of minutes trying to look it up as well. The Quant page doesn't compare career length over the past 5 years vs career length 20 years ago. Not all that helpful for the purpose of this discussion, but some sources say the average is 5 years. I think with the current focus on speed, more guys are going to be leaving the league at an ever younger age.

If you draft a decent player, not a star like Boeser, and leave him in juniors or college for a couple of years before putting him in the AHL for a year or two, then he's 23 - 24 before he's on your club. That caliber of rookie generally doesn't get relied on a ton, so maybe it's another year or two before they're a core piece of your team. So 25 or 26 is their prime years. If you're not wanting a bunch of guys who are over 30, then you don't keep your supporting cast for long before you're recycling them. Not a lot of time to build a consistent team core like some teams in the 90's did.

Maybe this is all a misconception driven by the talking heads and media clowns. Just more a general impression I guess.

Thank you for the perspective. The info I found suggested that careers were lengthening slightly in 2000-2010, but nothing more recent. average career length is about 5.5 years, but averages aren't really informative.

To my eye, it seems that there are more really young guys today and it's harder to extend a career with the pace of play...which seems to agree with your view

Look at the leafs, they added 3 players(mind you a 1OA) and all of a sudden they are a playoff team.

We add gaudette, EP, and one(or both) of OJ and Dahlin and we are a completely different club.

You could say that about just about any teams that have a few nice prospects, heck, if the flyers got Dahlin, they would probably be cup contenders.

All true but the Atlantic is a weak division.
IMO not much separates a PO team from a lottery team other than some teams are nearly automatics to make the PO’s. TBL examples show how a good team can suck then turn it around.
