MTL has already said they are sellers. Not a suitable parter. If I had to guess, he is traded to the Islanders. - CanuckDon
Thats what I said, did you not read the second line?. I said I would prefer brook to a 2nd as he is who I wish we drafted over gadjovic.
I think he will end up either with NYI or Toronto.
Most likely NYI though as they have a couple of 2nds which I would be more than happy to take for Gud. |

How about anyone but Martin and his awful, awful contract/ability. I'd rather have Bozak, and that is saying something(cause Bozak is not good either).
Don't hate the idea other than that, but Martin's contract is one of the worst in hockey IMO. - neem55
Just thinking that by taking on Martin's contract we get a decent pick thrown in for a player like Granlund or Gaunce.
Martin could fill a hole as a 4th line guy with some toughness.
It fits the narrative of taking on a bad contract. |

So JB won't overpay Gudbranson?
"Benning agreed that Gudbranson’s value to the team has gone up due to the forced retirement two months ago of combative Canucks winger Derek Dorsett. The Canucks’ lack of overt toughness was exposed last week when rookie-of-the-year candidate Brock Boeser was cross-checked into the boards by Los Angeles King Trevor Lewis."

Kypreos and MacLean believe Toronto may be looking for a defensive forward, we have a couple.
They can't take on another contract as they are maxed out at 50, how about we take on Martin and a 2nd, we give up one of our "defensive" forwards, like Granlund?😁 - Reubenkincade
Doubt there's anything either team wants from the other.
Andreas Johnson might be a good target for you guys? |

Benning is proving to be more and more of a moron.
I would sign Lefty and Van Hockey Guy to protect these kids. Both over 6'4 and 220lbs and as tough as they come.😁 |

be kind of nice to end the year looking like an improved team, I could see it happening too. But still hoping for that top5 pick! All we need is for them to play around .500 hockey over the last 30 and we should get a nice pick. - neem55
I want the draft pick too but certainly not opposed to this way of thinking. Building confidence for next season is quite important. I wonder if we can have both?? lol...

That's not enough return IMO, I don't disagree with the idea of taking on a bad contract for a good price. Two more years of Martin playing left-bench and making Dorsett look like a steal is worth a 1st if I'm giving up a much, much better player in Granlund and taking on 2.5 millionx2 for a AHLer. |

Speaking of Phoenix, WTF happened to Max Domi? He has three goals this year after 18 as a rookie. - LeftCoaster

A sixteen game losing streak, followed by a 14 game winning streak to end the year! |

Oh Jim...
You can call up Archibald and sign a couple of fighters as UFA’s.
Gudbranson has a bum wrist and a concussion in the past, he’s not going to be dropping the gloves as much everything thinks he is.
We’ve seen the guy play enough to know what he is at at this long. He’s a useful player and yes, this team needs toughness. But the guy is going to want too much money, and term for the player he is. |

He is going to get injured his first game back and we will lose him for nothing at the end of the year |

I still think he’s getting traded, but I hope Jim is targeting the right return and not looking for another Demers or “Hockey Trade”. |

I don't care about term if they keep that number 2.5 and below. Lots of UFA's can provide what he does for that kind of money.
McNabb
Mquaid
Hunwick
Miller
Engelland
Borowiecki
Gryba
Bortozzo
Polak

Yeah, they won’t get close to 2.5M
Engelland was signed.
I would love to get McNabb on a reasonable deal. Skates pretty well. Developed in the Kings system, can throw big hits, can make a good first pass out of the zone, decent defensively, decent hockey sense, and willing to fight. |
