Ex Av’s and Oilers make up 2/3rds of the roster. Guaranteed Gold? Your take? |

I think they are a lock for being the highest scoring Olympic team of all time |

I know you and I have been down this road before. I like Larsson and think he brings something to this team that was missing before. I think the cost was way too high to obtain him.
Some people have these insane blinders on where they think the team they cheer for can do no wrong. It's impossible and quite frankly exhausting to argue with someone like that. The team could trade McDavid for Bishop and Radulov and they would sit there going, "well the team had to make a change and we got a winger and a goaltender... 2 is a bigger number than 1 after all." |

Think we can get a late 1st for him? Or is that overly optimistic? |

I thought you were more okay with the deal. Either way you and I can have a intelligent conversation with agreements and disagreements

To tell the truth I’d prefer to keep him if he will sign for 3x3. Otherwise dump him. I doubt we get a first but who knows? |

Not that comparables really work at the trade deadline but what Anaheim traderd for Eaves could be a similar deal. A second round pick that becomes a first if the team advances to the third round. |

Once I warmed up to the deal, I've always been of the opinion that we gave up the best player but we got something we desperately needed. We should have gotten better value out of Hall no question, but we were always going to lose that trade for a d-man. Every GM in the league had the Oilers bent over a barrel.
If Mac-T / Tambellini had moved on acquiring guys like Boychuk & Leddy when they were publicly available we would never of had to move Hall for pennies on the dollar. |

I am okay with the Hall/Larsson deal, but that in no way keeps me from recognizing the issues that losing Hall created. Attempted to solve one problem and created another, a problem only magnified with the Eberle trade.
IMO it’s still too early to accurately judge the Hall/Larsson trade. Larsson’s struggles this season (and the teams struggles as a whole) inspire premature doom and gloom. I still believe Larsson has more to give, and I truthfully think that the Larsson of last years playoffs is the sort of player he will be in years to come. |

He’s shown flashes of it in Jersey as well. He needs to be put in positions to succeed however, just like everyone else. For example, with Klefbom’s continued struggles on the PP, would it be so horrible if Larsson received some of those gravy minutes? |

In junior Larsson had more PP time but in NJ or Edmonton he has not. Could be one of the things they try now that the season is done. One area that is not Larssons strength is his puck moving and MacLellan likes his PP d men to break out more. |

All true.
I say try it anyway. Our PP and PK both suck ass, so we really have nothing to lose. I’d give Khaira PP time as well. |

I can’t see how anyone could be okay with the Hall for Larsson deal. If the return included a first then fine. When the trade was announced I kept waiting for someone to say Larsson and... |
