Duclair and Clendening for Panik and Dauphin (maybe more). Looks like we're once again missing out on a good buy-low bet. - MaximumBone
Solid trade for the hawks.
Panik’s a deec depth scorer, but yeah, that’s a deal where the yotes were clearly willing to give up on ducs potential to get anything deec in return
Klefbom, jones and slepyshev

What "Panik" level guy could you trade though? Slepyshev is a similar guy, but hasn't had the same success yet. - AdamFrench
Depends on which Panik they believe they're getting. If they're (stupidly) basing it off his career year last year, sure we don't have one. If they're basing it on the rest of his career, then pretty much any winger should get it done. |

Wouldn't say it's deep so much as absurdly elite top end (nothing wrong with that). In the same way that we're not deep now, we wouldn't be "deep" even if we kept Hall. Had we kept the Barzal pick, then we're much better off as far as depth. - MaximumBone
High end talent . Almost unmatchable
But yeah, we already have some decent secondary depth in guys like khaira, strome etc. They’re just kinda depended on much more Than they should be. Like they might be playing on the 3rd line, but it’s not a true 3rd line. We need them to score on a regular basis for any real success.
U add high end, that obviously puts depth guys in more comfortable positions.

As we are this year? I don't know that I agree. Hall and Demers Vs Lucic and Larsson doesn't fix Klefbom's major coverage issues earlier in the year, the goaltending not making the big saves or the coaching staff's inability to coach an effective breakout or PK. Might not even do much for the PP. |

I think we'd have to include a high pick of some kind. Probably more like Klefbom, Bear and our 2019 or 2020 1st (conditional) and maybe throw in a Slepy. |

Yeah.
Looch is a passenger. Hall is a driver.
I’m not even meaning to slag looch really. His numbers are DEEC. But he’s a stick on the ice, go to the net guy, who depends on his linemates to generally create allnhis offence. And even then his hands are pretty brick and he struggles to corral the puck when set up.
As I said before, hall could potentially be the better driver many nights on a line with either of leon or Nuge. Whereas right now, if those guys struggle, their line is totally erased |

Some people are fuked in the head.
Hall is an Allstar winger that some are talking Hart contention for what he is doing with NJ this year and Larsson is a second pair stay at home dman on pace for 8 points and -12 this year.
But yeah he wouldn’t trade Larsson for Hall

Who'd he knock out? Lucic, Maroon, Puljujarvi and Draisaitl are all clear of Panik. Unless you're referring to the team when they go 3Cs deep then sure, but just barely. |

The previous offseason coupled with the Reinhart trade was truly the f up's of f up's.
Pretty much gave away Barzal for free. The fact that we should have been looking for a proven NHL defender instead of a maybe already made this deal look like a desperation move at the time (not to mention we gave away picks in a deep draft). A key thing to include in here is that if we drafted Barzal (quite certain that was the consensus favorite around here, even if not, we needed more high-end C depth at the time (only top C prospect at the time was LD if I recall correctly)), could we have seen RNH traded for Jones with Barzal, LD, AND McDavid in the system/roster? As a result of this, would Hall have been traded? Would we still have Lucic? An interesting thing to consider. But hindsight does levy its way into this when it comes to the RNH/Jones proposal, so there is that. Still interesting to consider.
Traded Ebs for scraps. Sorry, terrible deal any way you cut it. Ebs had his flaws, but his production is missed. Strome may be more versatile, but no way in hell is he worth Ebs. I would have loved to have gotten Simmonds for Ebs + IMO instead if we wanted to upgrade our RW side.
Russell Signing... honestly, I'd like to see him switched to the Wing. I cannot watch him defend our zone even if my life depended on it, but I do like his offensive poise. Still a bad signing if we look at how he has contributed at playing defence (hence "defender").
Lost depth. Pouliot, nuff said.
A top 6 of any of Hall, Barzal, McDavid, Ebs (or upgrade), LD, Maroon, Pulj, and possibly Yamo (in the long term if we agree with the fact that we would make the playoffs last year even if we kept hall and got Jones
vs McDavid, Lucic, Maroon, LD, Strome, Pulj, RNH, and possibly Yamo in the long term......

Honestly, look at these two top-6 groups and tell me which you'd take:
McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH, Lucic, Maroon and Strome
Hall, Draisaitl, Barzal, Eberle, RNH and Maroon
Now, you might still take the top one for the McDavid factor but the fact that it's close (IMO at least) is a HUGE tell to exactly how big the chasm is between what is and what could've been. |

Sadly true. It would come to a coin flip for me lol. Having two lines being carried by two drivers (Hall and LD or Barzal) vs McD and a solid 2nd line. A balanced roster is what I see you striving at regardless.
Also, look at this...
Maroon-McD-LD
Hall-Barzal-Ebs
Holy shet.... As much as I like Larsson, and IMO, I'm fine with the deal and just have trouble with the other shet Chia has pulled as mentioned above and in other posts... I would say F U Larsson in his face just for that top 6 and for having Jones on this team. No questions asked. |

The trade was a pretty lateral one. Neither team really lost or won in my opinion. |
