To say that at the time when we were desperate for any defender, or even last year when everything was going perfectly and masking our deficiencies at least has a semblance of rationale. And there were times when even I was on the fence that maybe we could make it somewhat of a win in our favour. At least big picture wise.

Staal has been pretty (frank)ing good man. Just saying. But yah, Tarasenko should be there and William Karlsson over Neal IMO if you need your token Vegas Knight. (frank), he's only played a few games but Getzlaf has been as good as anybody in the game in limited time.

I agree 100%... It just sucks that guys who deserve to be recognized for their play throughout the season, and get this honor (and it would be considered an honor if it wasn't just a marketing gimmick) aren't getting it. The NHL ruined what it meant to be in the all-star game in my opinion.

Fair enough. Havent watched much of staal this year. basically just going on his marginal decline over the last few years.

But totally agreed on getzlaf. Absolute beast and has been forever. Still don’t understand why he often gets passed over when speaking of the games best players.

That's a tough thing to compare. Hall tied for team lead in points last season playing 8 fewer games. It was a very bad Devils team, Hall really had no support around him.

Larsson had a very good year but did so playing with Klefbom who wouod a career year and playing in front of Talbot who had a franchise setting year.

He’s the best player in the world and carries this organization on his back. It’s disgusting how good he is. Been watching him full time for 3 seasons and I’m still amazed almost nightly at the sh1t he can do. But yeah, the nhl has too much parity to win on a regular basis without contributions from all through the lineup

Wouldn't say it's deep so much as absurdly elite top end (nothing wrong with that). In the same way that we're not deep now, we wouldn't be "deep" even if we kept Hall. Had we kept the Barzal pick, then we're much better off as far as depth.

What "Panik" level guy could you trade though? Slepyshev is a similar guy, but hasn't had the same success yet.
