Wanna get on some early draft blogs? I’m getting interested, knowing that our season is done for. Plus, the talk of young boys, will give Jero some excitement while he’s banned. - Ihatebrianburke

Practically a goal a game in the O and put up numbers in the USHL close to Eichel/Matthews. Not bad |

Yakupov, Yakimov, Zharkov, Belov, Paigan, and Tulupov (the guy that rang Ben Eager’s bell in camp and put him on queer street), have soured me on Russians. They’re basically a bunch of crybabies, that rarely play a physical game, and threaten to go back to Russia whenever they don’t get their way. |

Not much different than his brothers stats and he was supposed to be a stud too. He’s not looking so good in the ahl this year after being drafted just after guys like Barzal, Conner, Debrusk etc... |

Don't worry guys: there'll be plenty of RHD available for us to draft. Most of Boqvist, Dobson, Wilde, Bouchard, Merkley or Woo will be available when it's our turn to pick
Unfortunately not many Cs early in the draft with Kupari and Thomas being about the only ones in the top-15. Wahlstrom and Kotkaniemi are also listed as C's but have reportedly been playing the wing most of the season. (frank) Veleno. |

We're not gonna keep going over this; it's been flogged to death ad nauseum. We needed a young Dman to take top opposition and had the scoring the make-up for the loss of Hall. Simple. That's all. - MaximumBone
Yes I agree but a one for one swap is the real issue, there should have been more coming this way with Larsson for sure, there was a better deal somewhere for Hall |

Easy to say that when it can't be backed up with evidence. |

Seth Jones + for one that was discussed earlier in the thread but at that time Hall was untouchable. What changed then for them to accept Larsson with nothing else. Many Gm's stated after the trade that they wish they knew Hall was available, another testament that Chiarelli never even really shopped for the best deal |

Welcome to the party. You're only two years too late. Guess I've gotta go over all this again...
There isn't a world where Seth Jones+ was available for Hall. Nashville was looking for a C because Mike Fisher was their #1. The discussion was Nuge for Jones but it's unknown whether Edmonton refused (bad move) or if Nashville opted for Johansen (seems reasonable).
As for the "many GMs", there was one single quote from a GM saying that and that's something so ridiculously absurd to offer as "evidence". What's that GMs idea of a better offer? Maybe they value Brendan Dillon and a pick more than Larsson and therefore can say that. Maybe there's an inbuilt bias in everyone's head that makes them believe their guys are more valuable than another's. Maybe he has direct incentive to say something like that because it discredits an opposing GM and can (further) hurt his reputation when making future trades. Maybe it wasn't even a quote from a GM and instead a favour by a media guy to one of his currently unemployed ex-GMs to help open up a position.
See how much I can spin that angle without having definitive proof? See why quoting "a GM" without having attribution is about as pointless as quoting "an expert" or "studies say"?
As for that GM, I'll restate what I've said ever since the trade: if that GM didn't know that Hall was available, he wasn't doing his (frank)ing job. Are you really gonna trust the words of a clearly incompetent and unnamed GM as the basis of your argument?
As with Donald Trump, there are hundreds of legitimate angles you can take to hate on Chiarelli that have basis in actual, tangible facts. Picking this one where all you have is speculation and rumors and unnamed "sources" defeats your own point. |

That was just a joke online, but yeah... He definitely must have been eating a tonne (literally) of junk over the years to get to that point. He had a gastric bypass last year though, and has dropped well over a hundred pounds (I believe it's something like 160lb he has lost to date). Now he's in the high 390's. |
