No disrespect Brian but I think you should lower your expectations, especially with that Nashville deal. Habs would be lucky to just get Tolvanen and a pick at the beginning. |

I think you went a bit overboard on the Nashville return. not happening
don't forget the Habs are dealing from a position of weakness with all 3 of those teams right now. |

I'm not really sure that a rumour of a gm trying to move up in the draft to select a particular player is really evidence of scouting talent. |

Lofty return expectations from Nasville. Do you truly think Poile would drain the cupboard for an older player who is not performing at this point and we do not know if he ever will again...
Unrealistic at best, regardless of a Cup in sight, you never trade away the entire future for a shot at a prize now. You might have well asked for the first born child of Kevin Fiala. |

All those deals seem rather big for Pacioretty. Also he has another year at 4.5 million.
If Pacioretty is getting something that big in return then the Flyers should be making Simmonds available. |

Pacioretty could have returned some of what your listing if he was still performing at even 80% his normal production but at this point he is barely at 50% of his normal production. Add to that the fact that MB seems to be a fairly incompetent GM and I dont see a trade in our favor at this time.
We are much more likely to see MB trade for someone that isnt really any better or worse than what we have and a 2nd or 3rd rounder for Pacioretty and a later round pick.
There will be a press conference just after explaining that trades are hard, this isnt the playstation and the new guy has a lot of character.

He won't trade Pacs unless he gets an overpayment....just look at the Duchene trade for Sakic. There is no rush to trade him unless he gets paid full value for Pacs, he still under contract for another year. |

Well again perhaps your aiming to high...but look at the Duchene deal
And its not like he scored only 1 season, he did it for a long time AND is salary is pretty low for a 30 goals scorer...
I expect a big return too |

I hope you're right but I have lost all faith that MB will do much good for the franchise, even if by accident. |
