Its too far away for me to even wager a guess. He has work to do, but still has another half of a pro season+full summer, and a lot depends on what Benning (or his replacement) does with the existing backlog on the current roster |

He should play a full season in Utica first. |

He was awful. I couldn't believe the mass hysteria when he was traded.
He was a goof. |

Biech thinks Melanson requested the trade. He is familiar with him. Back up to Schneider

If he is not ready I think he would stay with Salo in Finland. He is just like his personal trainer. |

If I had to guess right now, I'd say thats where he ends up just based on the D under contract or RFA. But 9 months is a long time for him to improve, he could still surprise |

I think the same, I was just saying that he has 9 months to improve (which is possible) and if they lose UFA's Gudbranson and Biega, that could potentially leave an opening.
So given this team's history with kids, I cannot reasonably bet that VAN sends him down at this point |

Both OJ and EP are making the Canucks out of camp and will finish 1-2 in Calder voting. |

If Benning is still GM the public will rip him for the pick that is 3 years in the minors as Sergachev will be playing his second year. You know it will be beaten to death in the media. That is why I have a hunch he will play. |

Isles need D now to win in playoffs and make JT happy to sign. They have centers like Baily playing wing. They also could use scoring depth in bottom 6. Trade proposal:
Tryamkin, first plane to Russia loving NYC, Guddy, MDZ, Gager(JT's buddy) and Goldoblin for Barzal both 2018 1sts and 2nd.
Spicy in house Calder race to end the season with Vanek traded too. Then Canucks transform rebuild with 6 picks in top 50 of 2018 draft. Plus hockey gods finally gift 10A to Canucks. Then make some UFA moves and Sedins retire.
Start next season with young core that are ready and earning it while sheltered with some vets to build from in this ideal scenario.
EP, BO BB - EP sheltered to learn NHL game by two of the Canucks finest.
Kane Barzal JV - Homer line dishing to pounding finishers with insane speed.
Sven Gaudette Granlund - Check and score.
Gaunce Sutter LE - Take on top lines.
Gadjo, Lind, Dahlen among others learn pro game on Comets and injury call ups.
Dahlin Tanev - Why not use Tanev to break the future in now.
Edler Dobson - Edler good enough to shelter the break in of young D.
Hutton Pouliot - balance and rotate out.
Bouchard used as 7th D in line up for PP on some games and rotates like Stecher.
OJ marinates with Comets until Edler is traded.
Yes it is a best case scenario. But like to end 2017 with something to look forward to in 2018. So have fun with it. I'd be ecstatic for just one of any of the above to work out. |

should be half right.
I don't want to see OJ rushed into the lineup, but Vantel may be correct about JB wanting him with the big club, more about job protection and marketing than development. |

President > Inexperienced
GM > Inexperienced
Coach > Inexperienced
I just don’t see the issue...isn’t what is happening exactly what everyone wanted to happen? Finish low, be competitive, decent drafts, let the young guys play that push for spots....
Everyone complains when we don’t rebuild, then we start, and everyone complains. If you rush guys it fails. Look at Tyson jost even, has more point then boeser and was younger in uni - nhl is a different story.
We have Good young players looming and grooming. They can enter at the same time like marner, nylander, Mathews or over a few years.
I don’t get the hate for pres, gm. The full blow up and go young doesn’t work.
Even look at the iginla trade, they got poop, didn’t help the rebuild at all. Could have kept him and had a guy who loved the flames and bled the team show their young guys what it means.
My 2 cents

Agreed. I dont have faith that they will ignore the PR issues over proper development; but I still maintain that there is still time for him to improve and earn his spot in the same way Virtanen showed up this year |

I hope they have learned something from McCann and JV
tough decisions for JB when it comes to getting the roster set for next year. leave room?
I used to like the notion about prospects making the club out of camp but it should be rare for a first year pro player to make the club but I guess that is a gray area too with playing professional in europe.
