Holland is garbage.
Would you take a humiliating demotion at work and stay on? - Marwood
From what I hear --- and I am no Ek --- my only sources are what I read and hear --- that Benning has no authority to make trades on his own but LInden must agree and then pass it to ownership. Sounds lame-duck to me... but what Benning does do is Scout like crazy. Maybe there is a method of a "non-demotion-demotion" and create a head office of President, Head of Hockey Ops, GM. Who knows.

Is Burmistrov eligible to play in the Olympics? If so, can I punch him? |

I'm sure 1040 is freaking out about it. That is their purpose now to throw the Canucks under the bus at every opportunity. - Marwood
I don;t mind their new lineup except for their noon show. Don Taylor is not funny, entertaining and I am thrilled he knows every hockey jersey number but he is done.
I do not listen to 650. Any station that would employ Steve Darling sucks.

From assistant GM to GM to Head Scout, probably doesn't sit well with JB. Perhaps that's why this is dragging on.
Holland or??? I don't care as long as it's an upgrade in the role. - VanHockeyGuy
I really think that if they want to keep Benning, then they need to replace Trevor. The GM typically reports to the President, so have someone who is experienced and knowledgeable oversee things.
I am betting that when Benning wants to sign/trade he gets the green light from Linden; alternatively if he brought those same signings to a Holland, Tallon, Lou, etc. they would require more convincing, they hold the hammer |

Reminds me of when the Canucks has a done deal with Kesler (A-hole...ahem, excuse me) to Pitts and it was rejected by ownership. That was the end of that GM.

Yup its a more challenging environment but when you're forced to explain or defend your decisions, you are more thorough |

The management of this team is a joke, still less of a joke than the people that think this team is managed well. |

Which would explain JB spending the majority of his time scouting, instead of having his boss break his balls. |

It really looks bad. The worst look of it all is that the top of the organization is inexperienced and the most important position below him is also inexperienced in that capacity |

I think between President and GM you need to have someone with experience in order to make it work. Coaches always have some form of experience that is relatable to their day to day job - running NHL teams I think is vastly different than other levels
Sather stayed on as president to watch over rookie GM Gorton; rookie Pres Shanahan has Lou; Davidson and rookie Jarmo in CBJ; Waddell and Francis in CAR; many examples of experience mixed with someone new |

Holland is exactly what Aquilini wants in a GM, compete at all cost, he'd be very bad for the Canucks at this stage IMO. - LeftCoaster

Or they are negotiating with Benning for an extension.
Treliving went all of last season on his last year and then was re-signed by the Flames in the off season.
It is not an anomaly to have a GM finish out his contract before being re-signed or extented.
This is just hysteria for hysteria's sake. - Marwood
This pretty much describes the comment section of most of Carol's blogs. |
