I agree with you on the Melnyk thing James, he's just being honest and upfront. If you don't wanna support the team/business then he'll locate it somewhere else. Simply a warning shot across the bow of the fans, I see no harm in that.

You are wrong if your declaring a winner or a loser on the Brayden Schenn deal. It is way to early to assess it.

Did you realize Morgan Frost has 55 points in 33 games in the OHL. He’s a +42.

In any case it’s impossible to assess at the moment

Please do not delve into the world of “cheap playoff tickets”

I tried very hard to get into those playoff games last spring, however at my income level I cannot afford to blow an entire months entertainment budget on one night out.

I see as many Sens games as I can in a year(usually only 5) and ticket prices are not at the level where I can just on a whim pick up some playoff tickets.

Once all the factors add up(beer, parking, food, gas all the way across the city) it’s still around 75 a person for the cheapest seats in the house for a regular season game.

Doesn’t sound like a lot of money but to a young couple trying to start their lives, it is.

I know a lot of people in my age group in this city in the same boat.

I agree on Karlsson. I think there are too many roadblocks to a trade of that caliber and risk.

Let's be real. Stamkos's year is attributed to Kucherov being a top 3 forward in the league this year.

Stamkos leads the league in PowerPlay points, 8 of 12 goals on the power play.

Kucherov is giving Stamkos a nice buff in points.

Kucherov is amazing, but both of these guys are feeding off of each other. Kucherov wouldn't be as effective if he was playing with Tyler Johnson instead of Stamkos.

I think it's the other way around, Kucherov is having a phenomenal year because Stammer is back in the lineup, chew on that for awhile.

This sort of logic means you can never judge trades, because you have to wait to see if the Blues turn Schenn into anything at the end of his contract, if the Flyers turn Lehtera or the picks into more beyond their Flyer careers, and on and on forever.

The Flyers lost, because within months of the trade, knowing what we know now, if Flyers were to make the trade again, they would demand more from the Blues, and Blues would be willing to give it.

Lol wut? So we're just supposed to focus on Lehtera and Schenn and ignore everything else? We're very happy with Frost and the extra 1st. Schenn never came close to producing on the level he is right now in Philly. The trade worked very well for the Blues right now, and will be a huge help to the Flyers as they continue to draft and develop their young players.

The Schenn/Lehtera trade wasn’t a one sided win but the Blues are definitely showing the positive results early on. We’ll see how Flyers minor leaguers and picks pan out in the future.

Melnyk is running that team into the ground......he invests NOTHING into the franchise while gouging fans at every opportunity.......it's a small market team that probably pays in the top 5-10% of all teams in terms of ticket prices, parking, concessions, etc, etc, etc.

you can't see a game (2 people going) for under 300$, when you factor in everything.......you pay out the ass for everything so that melnyk has a way to re-finance his life every couple of years? come on man

the guys is running the team into the ground because he can't afford to keep it, but is too stubborn to sell........so the fans stay away for a couple of years and force his hand....i'm good with it.

he could try to re-locate the team if he wanted, but it would be the same issue no matter where he went.....he's so indebted, and pays so much interest on loans, that he'd lose money no matter where he was.

he may be worth a billion (or whatever it is) but he's so cash poor because of poor investments, fraud, and asset liquidation, that at the end of the day his net worth is ridiculously mis-leading.

I'm all for advanced stats, but the underrating of special teams is ridiculous nowadays.
