You're trying to spin a chirp that was used against the Senators last season in your favour. Yet at the time you held the staunch position that making the playoffs > draft position.

Is this just apathy or are you changing your mind? Are you conceding last season's "success" for the Ottawa Senators?

The funny part is, he doesn’t realize the difference. Leafs are a young team on the rise. The playoff experience is important, and is something they can continue to build on.

The Sens, on the other hand were a lucky team, that took that luck as a sign of future success, and not only did they wind up with a poorer draft pick because of it, it propelled them to trade away more futures in an effort to catch that dragon.

He’s laughing about the Leafs’ draft pick, meanwhile the Sens might not even have their’s this season.

That’s a tough choice to make though... keep this year’s pick, and hope next year’s isn’t better... I guess it hinges on whether or not they’re planning to keep guys like Hoffman, Duchene, and Karlsson, and keep fighting for mediocrity.

I would love to know what the Sens Magic draft spot is that they keep it or surrender it to the Avs

Lets say they manage to finish 26th and sit in the 6th spot and stay there.
If they keep it, they basically have to try to win next season (keep Karlsson etc)
If they give it up they are free to unload and tank next season

but more likely whatever happens they just chug along trying to be relevant and make the playoffs..stumbling around in the dark

If they decide, on draft day, that there is a prospect they want in the first round, within the ten first picks, when it's turn to select, then they select that prospect and forgo their 2019 1st round pick instead. They also have the Penguin's first as well.

the leafs will be rewarded with a mid to high 20's pick in the first round.........JACKPOT!!!!!!

We might lose a top-5 pick next year instead of this year, but the Leafs are going to the playoffs and picking late! HA!!

You’re so defeated it’s just sad now.

I mean, it was always sad, but it’s a different kind of sad now.

That’s bordering on being a bannable offense there.

I’d seriously consider taking your advice if it was true, though.

I'm not sure about who was giving up " the futures" in this proposed three team trade.

If Colorado was trading Duchene to Ottawa, and the Sens were sending Turris to Nashville ......... I would assume that Nashville was the team giving up " the futures", again assuming the trade was conditional on Turris signing a contract extension.

So from my point of view, the Sens were not the team going to be giving up "the futures" ...... it was going to be the Predators ....................... unless you know something I've not heard about .................. because Nashville had to have something involved in the three team trade ....... right?

There are Eight Teams in the Atlantic division.

It seems as though no one wants to talk about the team they cheer for .......... except for Senator fans.

The Senators have managed to get points in 10 out of their first 11 games.......... and are only one of four teams that only have been beaten in regulation once so far this season.

They've done this without their full line up in most of their games, missing Key players due to injury.

This must totally amaze fans of other teams, as they can't find anything to say about the other 7 teams in the Division ......... I guess that's a sign that they see the Senators as one of the teams to beat in the Division.

Senators currently sitting Second in the Division, and now have the next couple of days off ............... until they meet the Canadiens on Monday.

FYI NHL leaders in Blocked shots

Ottawa - 186
Pittsburgh - 178
St. Louis - 165
Philly - 164
Dallas -152

The Senators also lead the Atlantic Division in Goal Differential

Man, Montreal shut out two straight games.

3 game losing streak, 11GA, 3GF. Probably won’t snap the losing streak tonight, but might snap the shutout streak.

I think we can all agree that this puts them in a better position for the Dahlin race than the Sens.
