The more I look at our center situation the more Matt Cullen pisses me off. We picked him up of hockey's scrap heap and gave him a lineup spot on a Stanley Cup winner, times 2
We were in horrendous shape and THAT'S when he decides to pick up and go "home" to Minnesota
I hope the Wild flame out and he gets injured mid season, or even better, ends up a healthy scratch |

I had the same thought... If he flops as 3c he can still be a better 4c than Rowney. Just don't give up very much for him. Not sold on Rowney as a full time player. |

Agreed, Rowney is solid 13th forward but that's it. I'd Ben interested in Sheehan as 4th line center but I think penciling him in as 3rd is a stretch for top tier team. |

Hey the Leafs have a spare 4th line center in Ben Smith. I'm pretty sure LL will let you guys have him for futures. |

I still think Rowney can be a solid 4c, but I'm also not opposed to Sheahan as a 4c, not a 3c. |

Definitely agree with everyone else, including Ryan, I'd pick him up on the cheap and let him "eventually" move into the 4th line role. I don't think that he's a bad player at all. He can fill in for a while at 3c, just not down the stretch.
Also, I have a feeling that Blueger gets some time at 3c and 4c this year. |

PensWin87....He had other options last year too. He wanted to come back to the Pens and was an integral member of 2 Stanley cup teams. So what if he decides to end his career in his home town. The guy is a class act and good player. |

No use wasting logic on someone who thinks like that. He's clearly 11 years old. |

Yeah, being an integral part of back to back Cups doesn't even BEGIN to pay us back for signing him in 2015. Him taking a hometown discount to stay with the team in 2016 isn't good enough either. Seriously, (frank) off. Matt Cullen doesn't owe this town anything. He was a fantastic Pen, gave more and was more loyal than most late stage hockey mercenaries are, and brought us two Cups. The (frank) else you want?
Also, why is "home" in quotations? It is his home. He said it was time to raise the kids in a consistent environment instead of moving around every season. Sounds like going back to Minnesota was never in doubt, whether or not he still wanted to play in the NHL was. |

Unless something bizarre happens, the Wild will be contenders in my opinion & Culldog will be a big part of their bottom 6 balance. He gave us 2 great years, won 2 cups. Probably needs a change to keep his mind on the job due to his age - something new will keep him interested rather than going through the same same in the Burgh. As others have said, he owes us nothing. I'm sure you'll see that eventually. |

See the problem is this, Detroit only moves this player because they are trying to get under the cap which means they will not be taking salary back which eats most of our cap space which means we throw away our flexibility on Riley freaking Sheahan and that's just dumb. Next bad idea to flush itself down the rumour mill $hitter please Eliottte. Yes we might need a centre but we are not as desperate as Gay Boyd at last call on a Saturday at the country and western dance bar. |

Haha all of this.
Thanks for all of your services and good memories Cullen. Enjoy your swan song season in front of your home town crowd. You deserve it.
I actually think the Wild have a great chance of making the final dance. Their foward group is deep as F, their D also deep and solid and they have an average to above average goalie... Which has been proven before to be enough to get job done. |

Why in the world would we NOT target Andeas Anasthasio or however you spell it. He plays center, he is fast, he can score AND DET cannot manage to get him signed anyway.... |

How dare a player choose to play in his hometown to spend more time with his family after doing the Penguins a solid last year!!! |
