Prospects are building nicely, a slow but necessary process to the promise land. If they keep selecting well (Pettersson & Gadjovich...etc.) it won't take as long, however, a few not so great selections (Virtanen) and it's gonna be a little bit longer.

You are always going to have some good and some bad, it's not an exact science. IMO the best thing you can do is give your team as many chances as possible.

I'm in agreement 100%, every team has it's missed opportunities, you just have to limit them as much as possible.
As I mentioned yesterday regarding the Blackhawks drafting, they amassed some great players from 2002 (Keith) to 2007 (Kane) but they had a few misses in there as well. Cam Barker at #3 in 2004 and Jack Skille at #7 in 2005.
Just think, they couldn't have Kopitar and Toews in back to back years

I think that Pits passed on having Crosby, Malkin, Toews is the bigger shocker. Hawks have been willing to take risks on high skill players as well which has paid off. One of the reasons I'm happy with the Eriksson pick and was pushing for Mittlestadt.
Thanks for the links Carol, great blog.
I see Dahlen-Ep-Boeser as the first line of the future, I think it has a huge ceiling given the mix of talent, passing and shooting. Right-side d should clearly be high on JB's radar next draft/tdl

On Virtanen...
Although my pick was Ehlers & i didn't want Nylander I'll stick by him as a good pick.
I'll eat it if he doesn't pan out as long as his naysayers do likewise if he does.
His draft & no elite C or stud D were available.
Fans cried we were soft then & now.
Far too early to judge picking JV
Neither Ehlers or Nylander success has amounted to much.
Jets r an enigma. Leafs made the PO's once as did we with JV.
Long term JV is more of a fit for us IMO.
Gadsjovich another big tough winger helps even more if it translates into an NHLer
