Ok, but the facts contradict your opinion.

This year? I don't see much improvement above 69 points they have last season.

1. Goaltending is worse
2. New coach, new systems, longer time to adjust
3. Best players are one year older/slower
4. Still no second scoring line
5. Travel schedule and injuries will continue to be an issue (and a pre-season in China!)
6. Benning and Linden still run the team

I'll give credit to Benning for being a solid drafter, but unfortunately the NHL doesn't told drafts throughout the regular season.

Absolutely only way the Sedin's get an extension in my mind is if they both put up 50 plus points this season AND take half of what they currently make on a 1 year deal.

I've wrestled & twisted over n over about this season & what the next would be about with or without the Sedins so much it still comes back to we have no choice but to suffer. The only constants I can find to pin progress on is how well TG & his staff do & how well the players buy in. The rest of everything else is like what we all mostly say is draft & develop.

I think we are due for a Comets + Canucks 2023 lineup projection

Seriously though pick a year our drafting etc will provide us an upswing.
Next season the UFA's will only insulate outcome kids to avoid continuous blow outs.
2018-19 is a tougher call & after that is more difficult yet.

I don't think this roster is worse than last seasons.
That does not mean we will finish any better either.
What I am saying is lousy teams do not show gains in the standings necessarily.
15 teams r crappy eg in the lotto. I get it being a bottom feeder is helpful draft wise but it still amounts to the same thing. Its gonna be years yet before we r relevant.

We are bottom 6 for sure. But don't be shocked if we finish slightly out of the bottom 5. Make no mistake we are not good but a few changes have been made in the off season so it will be interesting.

wouldnt it be awesome if we did? I wish we had more prospect depth and all but making the playoffs would mean players stepped up and had good/great seasons. I wish we had more depth, at least another high end prospect in the system.

I don't think we can make the playoffs, however we can always do better than most think we will.

just want to be entertained.
