Yes & i realize he had a Matthews to help which many teams cannot claim.

I think in a redraft he's top5, arguably top 3. Jury is still out on Ekblad, hope he gets back on track this year.

Yes & yet the Leafs were a bubble team & we made the PO's in JV's 1st season.
So nothing monumental has been achieved by either team.
The Leafs at least have a good season to build on but won't get any easier.
Leafs r trending up but lack D & we started our rebuild later.

Not really sure why your talking about teams now, I'm talking about a particular player whose ability you were downplaying. They could finish last and have the best powerplay and Nylander get 60 points and I would still say he is top-level talent.

Yeah, that's the top5 I'd say too. Turned out to be a strong draft, despite many claims that it was top heavy.

So is Draisitl not elite because he plays with McDavid? Malkin cause he plays with Crosby? Your logic is flawed. It's a team game, more than one player "stirs the drink". Nylander will get paid less, but he is an elite playmaker and key part of that team.

I can't tell if it's JV is a better fit for the canucks over nylander....or that the leafs are just like the Canucks a few years back ....or if you just want a straw to stir whatever drink you have
