If you don't post dive I layed it out for you in a 3 post parter. That post was only a rebut to Codes going off tangent. Just go back a few pages it will be clear.

Short version. They posts lay out how to marginalize Sedins this season so they are not extended. Short steps to moving on for rebuild. Develop the new players who will lead the team. There is no trading valuable assets away in the suggested plan.

I won't ever give them any money, going to make sure other friends don't either. The guy from the place I was going to pick it up from. Did me a real solid and is renting me a 14' trailer for cash. You're right. All those that stayed silent or supported your position to extend the Sedins because the team sucks should get a big STFU if they ever complain or state that the Sedins shouldn't be extended.

It's just 3 posts on forming lines to marginalize Sedins. First two on page 20 and last one on page 24. Pretty simple. Last post ends asking for suggestions if there is another way to avoid extending them.

So Van's future 3rd pairing on the 2020 roster is Brisebois and Chatfield. I'm okay with that.

Absolutely only way the Sedin's get an extension in my mind is if they both put up 50 plus points this season AND take half of what they currently make on a 1 year deal.

My packing has gone from putting stuff in boxes neatly and with other things TO get everything into a box!

The sedins got minimal points playing first line minutes and first line pp. If you give them even less than last year (i hope they play 2nd/3rd line minutes) i imagine their value, especislly with their cap hit, be next to nothing

i would only want them signed for another year if they agree to a trade deadline deal this season and then rinse them off and repeat next season...

You can only eat so much salary. Youre essentially needing a playoff contender to have a bunch of salary open which near never happens. I think its near impossible to trade 2x 7 million cap hits to the same team, salary retained or not. Im hopeful, but realistic

Why not use that 7 mil and buy a decent young player.

My thoughts exactly. In a cap world, every million counts. Let a kid earn some of that $$ instead of allocating to the declining sedins (with respect)
