Basically benning found a gm who was willing to part with one of his less valuable prospects ....

I have never felt comfortable with Sven on the 2nd line.
I hope he has a good year this year and proves he deserves to stay. I thought he was reliable defensively last year, which is something i suppose.

I don't agree that he is easily replaceable by the likes of Rodin, Boucher or other plugs...as they are all unproven.
But i like that idea of JV-Bo-BB (if they all make the cut). Although that lineup is probably a year away at best.

Sven-Sutter-Gagner could be a decent 3rd line with a bit of Defense, speed and hands.

Also incorrect. Top 5 organizational, cost controlled prospects are never expendable. Not surprising coming from a Flames fan as your organization tosses away prospects so easily

They didn't think he would be good enough to beat out anyone in their top 6 ....they needed a bottom 6 guy ...they weren't trading chabot, brown, or white ...

When you already have good young players on your roster producing then your 5th or 6th best prospect becomes less important ....

If you are full and You throw away a half eaten burger and a homeless man sees it and grabs it ....one has no need for the burger the other is desperate for the burger ...there's always a difference on how people see things

In Donna's world Burrows is the half eaten burger and JB is the homeless man who got paid a steak dinner in Dahlen for tossing it. Perspective is a barrel of laughs.

But I think we can all agree that whoever throws away half a burger is an arsehole

So when we were on the same page about Canuck wingers a couple hours ago that's because of your self righteous brilliance. Give me a break.

You can't admit a mistake. You pounded all year Burrows was worthless and should be thrown out for a bag of pucks. He landed Dahlen and now there is excitement that he and EP could replace the Sedins in talent as a duo. Not bad.

You can have different opinions and we can agree or disagree on them. That's fine. But don't for a second believe you are smarter or above me with your condescending remarks.

Sven has acquitted himself well but if he was on the 3rd line producing we r better off. If he was there or traded I only meant we could live with Rodin or Boucher as his replacement in a pinch if needed. Prospects could compete for the top 6 if that were on option. I to like the idea of a JV BO BB trio👍 With Dahlen EP coming soon enough it's who is the possible 3rd for them?

Yeah. Overall, Sven has been a pleasant surprise (given what we gave up for him), but i'm not sold on him as a top 6'er.

For sure he'd be better on a 3rd line, but i think you could say that about most of top 6.

Rodin, Boucher and Goldobin are all giant ?'s for me, I would not feel great with any of them on a 2nd line at ths stage. So is JV for that matter, although he is my personal dark horse to make the team.

Even Brock for all his sizzle at the end of last year will be in tough to keep that pace going during a full season when the real games are played.

Over the next 1-3yrs growth & the prospects making the team is what i'm looking forward to. I'm not concerned how well Goldy Rodin or Boucher do & will let it play out. Its all about the build up & the kids coming of age together at some time & idk when or how soon. As for Brock I'm positive he will do fine.

Elite D is my biggest concern still but its not hopeless. Players like Gaudette or some others like Lockwood or Gadsjovich r nice to see how they progress.
