I think Rielly is back to taking the tough assignments again with Hainsey. Z was a little over his head IMO. But as you said I'm hoping year 2 he'll be better. - Garnie
Rielly and Zaitsev were pretty bad together, but if you listen to what Babcock says, he wants Rielly to develop and he needs a partner to do that, which is what Hainsey is for.
I don't get a sense of "let's bury Rielly/Hainsey against the toughest matchups" here.
But like I said, the minutes, when you factor in PK, PP, ES, will be pretty evenly spread across the top 4. |

Reilly was indeed a good pick. But, I would put Forsberg, not Galchenyuk as a player to rival (or even surpass) Reilly as "Best of that Draft class".
Still, If Forsberg, Galchenyuk, Reilly are your Top 3....that was quite the "Dud" of a draft!!!
I would rank them:
1. Forsberg
2. Reilly
3. Galchenyuk - hawk35
Crack the smelling salts my good man -
Hampus -1
Forsberg - 1A
The rest -

What about Trouba and Lindholm, two defenseman who are superior to Rielly in every way, and by miles? |

Has Rielly ever had a partner like Trouba or Lindholm have had?
Or is that not a factor?
And superior in EVERY way...pffft. |

This is the first in a series of columns. If I did this for the Canucks, I could write a novel. - mikeinbuffalo
You could do the same for the Leafs as well.....maybe two novels...dont kid yourself.
The leafs not signing The Great One will remain the biggest blunder of the NHL.
Ya we dont need him or to sell more Jerseys. Idiots.
Sundin, Gilmour, clark and the Great One all on the same team. |

No.
Better perhaps.
Not by Miles.
But Gardiner is the best right? |

Other than the retail markup from selling jerseys in their own building, the Leafs do not make more by selling more jerseys.
It goes into the giant NHL pot, and is distributed evenly to all teams. Shocking, I know.
And as much as I would like to blame Stavro, the truth is, the guy simply didn't have the money. |

Still think it's Hainsey/Rielly #1 pairing....but we'll find out soon enough. |

You know he also wanted to be a Canuck, but your side didn't do enough, right?

Ya I believe some jerkoff called him in the middle of the night and told him to sign here or the deals off, he said "go frank yourself then because I'm not waking my wife up at this hour to discuss it with her".
At least that's what he told me... |

I heard Janet nixed the deal when she found out Vancouver didn't have a casino with sports betting. |

I heard Wayne nixed the deal when the Canucks wouldn't include 24/7 security to make sure Beatle John wouldn't try to touch him. |

Anybody going to Montreal should hit up Kazu. Amazing restaurant. The lineup sucks, but it's worth it. |

Disagree: Lindholm is excellent as are Reilly (skates better any day of the week than Lindholm) Forsberg was also an excellent pick as was Trouba at #9, The best pick of the draft by a wide margin was Parayko in the 3rd round at pick 86. Sorry to burst your bubble.
