If Nick Holden is the return we can expect, I would rather they just keep him this year and let him walk or deal him at the deadline for picks.

Too many rumors of nonsense. If there is a deal to get a top 4 defender with a package of some of these guys then go and do it. If not, leave the roster alone and make a solid run in playoffs.
And the rags are annoying |

The media is too funny when they say we cant keep nylander, marner and matthews. Id trade half the team away before we give up 1 of those guys |

Yeah. How can Pittsburgh possibly hang onto both Crosby and Malkin. Recipe for disaster. |

Not sure what kind of return people were expecting for Bozak.
Holden seems about the right value, maybe. Add in a pick. |

Well they do cost about 5.8 - 7.8 million less then what people are expecting the leafs to sign their top 3 to.
(Im thinking the leafs could sign all three to under 24million) |

a bottom pairing dman in over his head playing too many minutes?
meh, you can sign someone like him on the FA market still.
i'm not the biggest bozak fan, but he his better than anything available in FA right now, at C. |

Hyman will get 20+ goals this season on Matthews' wing.

so Holden is a bottom pair guy playing too many minutes as a 4th guy, but Gardiner is a top2/top3 nhl d-man?
love how some Leafs fans can be so objective in their player evaluations |

I dont mind Bozak.
But a 6'4 dman that racked up 34 pts last year (more than Rielly) with a 1.6 cap hit.
Not bad.
Good luck finding that for cheap in the FA market |

He scored 10 goals on 156 shots. 6.4%, thats low and I wouldnt expect that to repeat.
But even if he jump a lot, lets say 10% and maintains his shot total. Thats 15 goals.
Maybe realistic, IDK what his actual shooting talent is.
to reach 20 he would have to shoot 10% and get 200 shots, or double his sh% alone to 13%
I dont see that happening. But 15 goals is possible if he plays with Matthews all season |

I think Hyman has the capability of scoring 15+ goals playing with Matthews. 20+ would be a career year, but anything is possible. |

No kidding. An undrafted - journeyman d-man that is basically a rental for a decent center (also a rental) not for me. Centermen are much more rare than a bottom pairing d-man. Just ask Montreal, who signed free agent Holland - who wasn't good enough to be on the Marlies. Ditto for NY Rangers who are woeful at center - Deharnais was signed by the strangers, makes Bozak look like Gretzky. Probably would fetch a late first rounder - maybe more at the deadline, why trade him for scraps that Rangers picked up for a 4th.
