Hyman will get 20+ goals this season on Matthews' wing.
Watch all Hyman critics in here go 'zitti' - MaximusAurelius
If he plays the whole season with Matthews, I feel like 20 goals isn't impossible.
But that's not saying another player playing the same minutes wouldn't score more you know... |

difference between 5 goals in a full season is nothing - just a few lucky bounces/posts |

He could have a komarov type career year where he gets a bunch of empty netters and goals from pucks bouncing off his ass.
But I think an average year for him will be 12-15 goals.

5 goals for someone who is not a huge shot generator is a lot.
Kadri also shot 6.5% in 15-16..but had 270 shots

for sure, it was still a rookie season so I do feel there is room for improvement, esp if he plays with the willy/auston combo
a shorty or two could be had as well |

oh and if marner finally gets some decent linemates that can defend as well and actually understand his brilliant plays, he'll get 80+ points easily.
trade bozak
trade JVR
trade for Faksa as a 2nd/3rd line C - play Marner with Faksa or Kadri, and a decent left wing (Marleau?)
it's a waste of talent to put Marner with J 'I don't backcheck' VR and Bozak (and I don't even mind Bozak; I think he's a decent #3 C). |

Problem - is he is more likely to be moved down to the 3rd or 4th line, now that Leafs have signed Marleau. I'd love him to score twenty, but if he continues to grind an play well defensively with say Kadri, it would be fine. 15 goals more realistic expectation.

JVRs production will be hard to replace. Marleau Faska Marner makes it harder for him to produce 80 plus imo marner kadri could be a nice combo |

Very true, but his role is expected to change this year. He will continue to be on the PK and he led the Leafs in SHG with 4, tied for second in the league. He will have less dynamic linemates this year but I still see a slight uptick in production.

a 30 year old coming off an anomaly of a career year. yeah, pass. - Tumbleweed
The prime age for D (or what use to be)
He got 22 pts last year and 25 a few years further back.
Again, not sure what you're expecting to get for Bozak. |

the people that regularly use the statement "he bozak'ed it" and "mother bozaker" in a trade still expect Doughty + for Bozak |

I dont see Hyman playing on the top line alot this year.
Im thinking Marleau (our overpaid 38 year old) could see more games there. |

I think it'll be a situation where Marleau will get rest if his geriatric ass needs it and get saved for critical end-game minutes, and Hyman will shift up and down as needed in light of that. |

i don't see the need for another LHD.
i think bozak is worth 2 2nds. considering the rangers picked up holden for a 4th, i don't think the value is close.
and again, brooks is a troll.

Well it would make alot of sense but I don't dare pretend to know what lines the Leafs ice next season.
Just let the Habs winning streak continue! |

I wonder whether Hudler's coming back to NHL.
had a strange injury last year?
he might even be an upgrade on JVR for Marner's line (better hockey IQ than JVR).

I wouldn't mind seeing bozak gone tbh. He's been a terrific leaf but his time is gone. I believe with the addition of marleau, and bozak's (potential) departure whether this year or next, we have:
Marleau- Matthews- Marner
JVR- Nylander - Kapanen
Leo - Kadri - Brown
Hyman - Moore - Martin.
Ideally, I'd like that this year. |
