As opposed to your boy Luke who is just plain useless.
Stupid Hextall letting him go just to sign lesser player like Gudas and Ghost. - Feanor
Who said to let him go ? Do you see him as a top 4 in the next 3 years ? Why wouldn't a 3 year deal to see if he regains himself or if he sucks be fine ? Is he even a need past 3 years for us with the offensively talented players we have ? |

Don't bother, man. He's just trolling me because we should all follow the rest of the sheep, instead of form our own opinions. |

How so ? A one dimensional player who contributes on the pp and not at es and has extreme deficiencies on defense ? I get it ghost has a better shot and speed But he may never get that speed back. And there is no guarantee he will ever even be as good as streit so you ate right in that regard they are ridiculous streit was an all star and captain |

Already explained why a 3 year deal was never going to happen.
They could have done a 2 year bridge and been cautious, but they got a great discount by going long term. |

There is nothing wrong with comparing Streit to Ghost. Streit is finished, Ghost has just started. At least you're using a comparison to Ghost to make your case. What would Streit be without his offense? Oh yeah, scratched in a cup final. |

I personally think he's a top 4 dman right now. His underlying metrics are good. Had some tough luck last year IMO. He's also really good on the power play.
He's always going to be a high event player, but the team really struggles to move the puck at even strength without him. You can't just assume guys like Morin, Sanheim, Myers and Hagg will come in and give you the same level of play. Something something bird in the hand. |

Great deal. Even if every year his stats look about the same as this year that is a movable contract anytime. Gms are always looking for offense. Simmonds' deal didn't look exceptionally great at the time, and with rising salaries and his improved play it is now an absolute steal. If Gost is having seasons closer to his rookie year 4 or 5 years from now at 4.5 that is going to be amazing. |

My only point is playing devils advocate is he had one bad bad season and one outstanding season. Where is he truly ? Somewhere in between probably. He could end up being a contract we heavily regret if he doesn't re assert himself. I would of enjoyed a 2 year deal. I also like I said don't think he's a future top 4 for us. So to heavily invest puzzles me. You can't pay everyone in the nhl and at some point hexy is going to have to trade a good player because of the cap. I don't think he's ever done that and I think his legacy as a gm will be determined by those decisions. |
