how about brent seabrook,s contract from the hawks

Since Bowman gives out NTCs like candy on Halloween, Seabrook would have to approve and I doubt he'd approve to go there. I could see Seabrook only approving of going to Oilers or Leafs, young teams on the rise. He could help either...not an expansion team.

No idea what a club pick is, but Vegas can trade players once they select them in the expansion draft
- YuenglingJagr

Just what I was calling the picks that vegas gets to make from each teams unprotected players.

I figured Vegas would have to pick a player then trade that player to another team. Wasn't sure if Vegas could just trade that pick to another team to use.

I didn't think Ryan had a no movement but I also didn't realize he was making +$7m per season. That's just crazy and might be worth sending off a 1st to get rid of.

How many 1sts will LA have to give up for LV to take Brown's contract???

Does Ottawa even have the ability to trade Ryan without his permission? I feel like Sens still have the flexibility to keep his contract

Isnt there some rule saying that vegas cant get this years picks in trades? And isnt the 2018 draft suppose to be deep? Cant see anyone trading 1st rounders

No it hasn't.

Do you think NHL GM's will now forget his near complete disappearing act or ignore that contract.

Ahhh, yes it has ... after how he performed, I'd say it's risen substantially

They have some nice prospects in white, brown and chabot just not much depth. If im them i bite the bullet and use 1st to unload him. His spot can be filled with White next season. Phaneuf has the no move so again it might be tougher to do..

Plus when you factor in sens fans didnt even sell out the arena in conference finals im not spending anymore money than i have to if im the owner.

Not a chance they off load Ryan and their 1st round pick to clear cap space.... its absurd to even suggest it—but it is Eklund

Nobody is going to give up a 1st to get rid of a bad contract.

Is Ryan overpaid........NO DOUBT......but the guy is still a 20 goal 50pt 2nd line player. He's overpaid by about 2 mil in today's market.......sens would be dumb to give up a 1st to save 2-3 mil

Definitely leave Ryan exposed and if Vegas takes him then so be it.......but you don't give up a 1st.

This is just a ridiculous EK rumour with nothing behind it

I don't know if it makes sense for either team. Ottawa has no-one who can play 2RW and a 28th overall pick in a weak draft isn't worth nearly as much as y'all think it does

If senators can move Bobby Ryan for a first you take it and run. They don't even have a high first. Ryan is at 7 for 5 more years. He's a buy out candidate but then you still owe 2/3. So save like $23 million. A low first isn't worth anything close to 23 million. If I were vegas I'd ask for 2 1st.

If that's the value it won't happen, because that deal makes us worse in short, medium, AND long terms

In a weak draft class you chance of finding a NHL player probably isn't above 25% with that pick. And you will pay him 4 million on his elc. Next years pick for you would likely have better odds. Regardless you save about 31-32 million in cash costs. In last years market that gets you Louis Eric son or Lucia for about 6 years.[img][/img]

Agreed, if they were going to move Ryan they would have done it in the past, not after he played the best hockey of his life.
I was shocked, but he played hard and pretty physical in the playoffs, and certainly contributed offensively...

You guys are way overestimating the value of a late 1st in this draft. Even if Bobby Ryan upped his value to 5 million with his play off performance it's still a steal to move the contract for the pick. You would be saving 10 million. A late 1st isn't worth anywhere close to that.
