He'll be a total bust unless we get him a north/south playmaking centre with en elite hockey IQ to play with.
- DrChristianTroy

That is why i go on about playmakers is our biggest need.
Idc if its at C or wing or D. Potential for most scorers is thats their 1 forte & if offering up nothing else then they r a dime a dozen & why wingers r nothing special if have nothing else in their tool box.

A question for u all here...

How can a player who has played as a pro as long as Goldy not get it that to make it in the NHL if your not scoring at a high rate with his skill that other aspects of the game r needed in his play? Is he stupid or lazy or simply doesn't listen? In the real world anyone who doesn't get it doesn't hold down a job for long. Its no different in the NHL either.

I'm glad WD explained why Goldobin sat. He shouldn't of had to, but it makes it crystal clear.

I got a new Xbox One and downloaded my bloatedmosquito account from my old system onto the new one. Somehow, because of Microsoft's infatuation with universal identity, it combined my account with the wife's Microsoft's account and now her profile name is bloatedmosquito. And I mean on everything. Hotmail, linkedin, MSM, you name it.

She's pissed because it won't go away no matter what she does. She said to me "now I know how those guys feel on that hockey site you're on".

He's 21 and up until this point his skill has carried him?

It's not unlike 21 year olds in any profession to not give their best effort. Either he'll learn, or he won't make it. He won't be the first, nor the last.

I thought the things you were suggesting to me on chat the other day were a little weird. This explains it.

I totally agree. WD is not a a baby sitter & i give him that much credit.
To even have to explain it is simply ridiculous and to all the fans that believe Goldy will suddenly get it overnight r not being realistic. The kid needs a strong wake up call & better come into training camp with a better attitude & bust his ass.

I think its because when you are the best of your age group, you are constantly a cut above the rest, which lets you get away with bad habits. Through that process he either hasn't had to be detail oriented, or forgot the work involved that earned the earlier success

He needs to be on the ice with linemates whose skillsets compliment his. We literally have NOBODY to play him with at any level. He's going to look totally lost until we do. Put the guy with a player like Mittelstadt and they'd weave north/south magic on every shift.

Sounds a lot like JV huh?
If its good enough for JV to go to Utica & have his game broken down & rebuilt then its time Goldy is treated the same. Consistency is important & up to JB to have a lil chat with Goldy what is expected of him in the off season.

That's one thing I can be sure she won't do. She's such an online prude. The most scandalous thing she does is send editorials to the national news outlets. She's my water-ballasts.

there is no benchmark for a player maturing. Jaden Schwartz was 22 at his first full season at the NHL. No point in creating hysteria over nothing.

Thats right & why u & I keep harping on a Mittelstadt & what we need.
Playmakers r a hige need or goals r hard to come by. I also rag on Daniel & idc if he likes it but i sit his ass or trade him without consent from Hank. Time to tell Daniel u don't have it. Tell Hank u can still play & your brother is on his own & u cannot pack him any longer.

Somewhat.

I think JV was lazy off the ice too. I partially agree with DCT, he needs the right linemates. However, if he needs to play with somebody so specific to be effective then he's far more of a project then we even think.

I think the big difference with JV though is he went from juniors to NHL, whereas Goldobin has spent time in OHL, Finnish pro, and AHL. The jump for JV was quite a bit larger and definitely had holes in his game that needed extra time and work in a lesser professional league. Goldobin could use some extra time there, but he has a longer track record that suggests hes closer than JV

but any center Canucks may be lucky enough to draft won't be ready for years. So who does Goldy play with now? How does he find that extra gear to have an impact?

Lefty mentioned WD's unprofessionalism the other day.

I would think Linden's response "it's the coach's decision, even if we don't agree with it" is even less professional.

Serious disconnect between the coach and management.

I'll go out on a limb....

JV can play before Goldy no matter what. He can do other things that Goldy cannot or will not. That said at this juncture neither is NHL ready til their game is NHL ready. JV IMO is further along but work to do yet.
