One of the best shootout players out there. Everyome knew Oshie was available. - SuperSchennBros
Maybe we can get Erik Christensen out of the SEL for next year??? |

We just beat one of the best teams in the league, and our top/second most hated rival 4-0, and yet you still find a way to female dog and complain about the coaching within the first 2 pages of the thread.
Sadly, I'm not surprised. - jmatchett383
But wait, I'm here after a win though.... Don't I get a gold star for attendance? |

Hakstol is in a damned if he do damned if he don't position. I also saw spots where he double shifted Voracek and Schenn on the 4th line to see if he could get them some room out there.

I've seen this movie before. The Devils due for a win, the Flyers coming off a big win against a heated rival, yeah, this probably won't end well. - BiggE
It's not like we're happy about it either. We're finally working on a big streak and won't to keep that tank train rolling... Although personally I despise tanking....
But we're giving you guys Kinkaid and an pretty AHL heavy lineup. You're welcome! |

Little disappointing the Pens couldnt get up a bit more for a game vs their biggest rival...but I understand the reasons they were flat footed. Flyers looked like they just wanted it more too. - MattStrat

As illustrated during the broadcast the Penguins were missing 6 regulars from their lineup, and had just finished up a road trip where they played games in every time zone. If they were coached by Greg Popovich, Crosby and Malkin wouldn't have dressed last night. |

Shouldn't be surprised about a tank. Your owner owns the sixers. It's his strategy. |

I'll give them the travel and injured forwards excuse, but not the defense. Our "healthy" defense will include at least 2 of Andrew MacDonald, Nick Schultz, or Brandon Manning. Again, that's when they're 100% healthy.
Also, I have a suspicion that Mark Streit is a mole. On the first PP, he mad 2 drop passes to no one in the middle of the ice that led to zone clears. |

Even the travel excuse is somewhat lame. How long of a flight could've it have been? The Flyers beat them last night, plain and simple. |

Well, you did decide to show your face after a win, so I commend you for dealing with the pain and frustration you're feeling. |

Too much. too late.
13-0 only hope.
Only to be dashed by NJ since we are the perfect slumpbusters.
Love watching them look like world beaters against top teams then laying an egg against cellar dwellers.
Keep in mind we played a vey tired and worn out version of the Pens... |

He's been a bit of a mixed bag so far. Has made some great plays and made some atrocious ones too. I think he fits the team's system fairly well though. He has a great first pass, well, except when aiming behind himself, and jumps up on the play fairly adequate too. |

Well, yes, they did. They were the better team. But I'm sure the flight from Calgary to Pittsburgh then to Philadelphia yesterday morning had some effect. Being in Western Canada for a week, including an hour lost, then coming back for 1 day of rest certainly doesn't help you. |

Moving a defensively responsible forward in Bellemare up to replace Cousins on the Giroux line when the Flyers have the lead, is definitely not sound player deployment. |

I agree with that, I think it was the long road trip that had an effect rather than the flight into Philly in the AM. Every team is faced with those situations at some point. |

Like I said, when he has time and space, he's very good with the puck, and he's fairly good at knowing when he can get in on the offense. However, when he makes a bad pinch, the feet won't cover for him, and he can get flustered with the puck if there's a forechecker right on him (like almost every other NHL player). |

Is he what he is now.
Solid vet on a playoff team but coming towards the end of the road. Still can make smart plays but the legs just aren't there for him to recover. |

So I was thinking about the Streit/Filppula trade late last night, which I admitted that I did not hate but would have preferred to major salary in return. I like Filppula but from a Vegas draft point of view, the deal does bother me a little. I don't think Vegas will take Filppula, nor do I think he'll be someone we protect. I think what I'm disappointed in is, I think we're left with another underwhelming player, which is what I was hoping by trading Streit would clear up. By letting Neuvirth and Bellemare walk, would clear up. By allowing Vegas pick up some of our garbage would clear up.
Again, I like Filppula because I think he's taken pressure off of all of our centers but he's a short term fix. Short term relief I don't expect much of.
Are you guys still fine with all decisions made at the deadline?
- SuperSchennBros
I think they signed Nuevy with the understanding that McPhee will take him in the ED. I believe I heard that mentioned somewhere and it makes sense. |

If that does indeed happen then it was a shrewd transaction. I would fully give Hextall props for doing so. |

I think they signed Neuvirth because they only wanted to commit so much to the goalie position. I think they have a feeling Sandstrom is coming over and you can't have 3 younger goalies battling for time in the AHL.
Now you can have one in the NHL(Stolarz/Lyon). And the other two battle in the AHL.

I really think that Neuvirth will be their pick. He's the best option among the group of Read's, Cousins, Raffls, etc. And I think your right the contract was just way too curious |
