Man...I am forever a Leafs optimist, but no way I thought they would be in a position to challenge for the division lead heading into the trade deadline. This team has obvious flaws, but most nights is a lot of fun to watch.

Thoughts on Leivo's new ice time? Seems to me like he is being showcased for a potential deal.

What if they think Leivo can replace JVR on the line with Bozak and Mariner? He's a LW.. tho he shoots right and he's always had an NHL caliber shot so if they trade JVR for a top 4 Dman maybe Leivo takes JVR's spot the rest of the year. He's 6'3 and more physical then JVR, costs cheaper but not as gifted offensively. Or maybe they include him in a package deal with a pick or another prospect in a trade.. who really knows. All I'm saying is either or could be possible I would think...

wouldn't be half bad... the other Shoshnikov/Leivo promoted to a top line due to a forward being traded for whatever return!

Leivo has looked good when in the lineup both last year and this year so. I'm sure he's happy to be in the NHL even though he's been in the pressbox pretty much all season.. beats riding the AHL bus in his mind and getting paid his NHL rate too boot!
