Thanks Carol.
I don't think we see Subban unless Larsen is injured or the team decided to cut him loose. Even then I imagine Stecher will be given that opportunity. |

atleast we aren't being blown out.
Larsen has been useless on the PP, so far.
might as well put 5 forwards on. |

No team will win games without a first or second line. it's gonna be a long 2-3 years of sucking real bad. |

Hey Carol - great blog as always
just wondering has there ever been any talk about moving Subban to right wing given his offensive instincts and lack of defensive awareness? |

He is still too small for a RW in the NHL. |

IMO that's a desperation move. The kid is 21 and has gotten better every season at both ends of the ice. Green was praising his defensive improvements just the other day. This team desperately needs offense at every position but they need a QB more than another winger. |

Wondering what the pairings will look like on Saturday?
Guessing it will be back to
Edler Stecher
Hutton Gudbranson
Sbisa Tryamkin
If Edler can't play,... it could get ugly. |

Having trouble scoring goals?
How about give decent line partners to that one guy with 4 goals in 10 games on your team.
Maybe, just maybe it helps? |

People have brought it up, but I just cant seeing it being a good transition. As a defenseman he has a good opportunity to provide offense from a unique position on the ice. On forward you're generating a lot below the faceoff dots, different angles, more board play and the defense tends to collapse down. As a D he can take advantage of things from up top and see lanes opening up
Burns is the only one I cant think of thats been successful in transitioning back and forth, but clearly he has been much more effective as a defenseman (despite being drafted as a forward from Jr's) |

Larsen looks okay in the offensive zone.
In the defensive zone, Larsen is afraid to go below the goal line or anywhere near the boards. I have seen it a few times where he flubs the puck to his d partner in his own end and he is around the goal line with an opponent 10 ft away.
I wouldn't mind seeing Subban get a shot, but I guess they will have to split up Hutton and Guddy to spread out the experience.

I really didnt like the Edler/Larsen set up on the PP. I dont mind Larsen being a PP specialist, he has had some decent shifts there, but it gets redundant if you want Edler on PP1 or have Stecher/Hutton in the lineup as they can play a more well rounded game IMO |

I agree he has looked okay in the offensive end, but at some point you have to convert looking okay to goals. Same could be said with every member of the Canucks obviously though. |
