The condition of the ice did not help flow of play at all.

I thought the clock got turned back to 1996 watching that game.

That arena is a total dump for hockey. I can see the Islanders getting out of there when they can.

I wouldn't mind taking a road trip up there to watch a game, though.

Probably easier to get to than the old Nassau County Colleseum.

Maybe Schenn should stay at center. That would give us three scoring lines, and a strong checking line.

We just need Hextall to do the team a favor and waive Christopher VandeVelde

Yeah that was an embarrassment. What a joke of an arena. Well for hockey anyway

I went to the old place a few times. Nothing like chanting "this is our house" as the Flyers were blowing the Isles off the ice and being responded to with "You can have it"

I'm not saying I wouldn't go to Barclays Center but I'd make sure to get seats with a good view of the entire ice.

I have been okay with trying Schenn out at center. I am also okay with VDV being waived

That last part would be met with mass hysteria. I mean he missed practice for the birth of a child and it was "OH HAPPY DAY" in here. If anything happens to move him or AMac from the lineup it's going to be mass bedlam.

At $5 million dollars per year, that's a helluva price for a 3C.

If he scores ~50 points who cares what line he's on.

Kessel ($6.8m) and Hagelin ($4m) were on the 3rd line for the Pens quite often last season.

the whole line thing is retarded

they need skill and have a certain amount of money to acquire and pay for it. The skill also needs to be balanced within the lineup, as we have seen what happens when there is only one or two effective lines on a team

If Brayden Schenn could skate like Phil Kessel or Carl Hagelin, we're probably not having this conversation.

If Schenn can't outskate that hotdog, Schenn needs a new training regimen.

I would even be okay with a top 9 of
Raffl - Giroux - Simmonds
Konecny - Schenn - Voracek
Read/Cousins - Couturier - Read/Cousins

Really those 9 guys are my top 9 and I almost dont care how they are set up. mix it up and use as needed depending on the game and situation

It's so great to be able to sit here and mix and match 9 players for our top 3 lines instead of struggling to be able to list a valid top 6.

My point is that maybe Brayden Schenn is overrated as a hockey player.

And instead of pages and pages of criticizing Chris Vandevelde, who makes about 700k, which should thinking about some of the players on the team who, maybe, aren't as good as their reputation suggests.

8 points in 9 games while being bounced around the lineup. Yup, Brayden Schenn is the reason this team doesn't have 10 wins.

If only he had 2 points in 11 games like that speedy stud Hagelin.

How's Brayden doing in ES?

I mean, he's been spoon fed PP time since forever here.

And not for anything, but Chris Vandevelde isn't exactly the reason this team doesn't have 10 wins, either.

Vandevelde could get hit by a bus tomorrow, and that wouldn't change a thing with this team.

The fact that Chris Vandevelde is actually on the ice playing in the Flyers lineup is a much bigger problem than how much Schenn gets paid
